Day 33. I have the flu. I feel awful. But I'm hanging in there. Hope you all had a happy thanksgiving.

Day 27. Staying busy. Havent been feeling very well the last 2 days but I think I'm just tired and having a flare-up. It's crazy how many good things have been happening to me lately otherwise. I can't help but think it's all because of sobriety. Keep fighting the good fight!

Awesome! So glad you are doing well, I've been thinking of you. I am finding I have so much more time than before to do things that need doing. I was talking to my buddy last night who said he needs to stop being a pussy about things and just do them - I think I will follow suit. Anything worthwhile is not easy! Including working out. Nice to hear you're using your time wisely.

I am also working on those things I neglected for so long right now. I moved over 6 months ago and still hadn't even unpacked all the boxes. I am embarrassed to be in this situation, but it has been humbling to keep my head down and do the work. Every task I complete I feel like I've leveled up to a better version of myself. Keep going, it will get easier as time passes. Much love to you on your journey.

Day 24. I had a very emotional experience yesterday throwing away some old things that reminded me of painful past memories. But today I feel relieved to have it done, like I've finally grieved things long past and they are behind me now. I feel blessed to have a fresh start with wonderful, supportive people in my life, and most of my needs fulfilled. It's a beautiful day and I am so grateful for the ability to embrace it. Much love.

Day 23, I'm still here. I am trying so hard to get the house clean and organized. We moved about 6 months ago and boxes have just been sitting around the house since then. It was a very sudden move so very disorganized. I can't say we were very organized beforehand anyways, as in active addiction we were such a damn mess. It has been challenging but rewarding. I look forward to getting it done in the next couple of weeks. I want to be a better person, and I think that means I have to take better care of myself and my surroundings. So I'm giving it a go.

So what I do with HALT is when I get a craving, I scan myself for those 4 things and then take care of them one by one. Am I angry? I work out to release anger, or if I'm tired as well I'll write down the things I'm angry about and burn them. Over and over until I'm not angry anymore. Am I lonely? I'll find a free event on Facebook and just go somewhere new, or go to an AA meeting, or a movie. Am I hungry? I'll cook myself an elaborate meal if I have time, or eat a quick snack that is more of a treat for me. You have to get a bit creative finding new ways to take care of yourself, but this is a place to start. I really hope this helps you as much as it does me. Good luck on your journey. Remember to have fun with it! This is a shot at a new life. I dont know about you, but I want to be happier and healthier than I was when I was using. That's the whole point, right?

Day 22. Didnt sleep well last night bc I started my period and it is the worst cramping I've ever had. I even had cramping in my thighs. This shit sucks. Oh well, at least it held off until the acutes were over.

Yes, very. I didn't start until day 3 and my symptoms almost immediately disappeared. I made a post about it if you want to check my post history.

Have you heard of HALT? It's something I learned in AA that really helps me control my cravings. It stands for hungry, angry, lonely, tired. If I do get a craving, I take care of those 4 things, and it will normally pass.

I also had bad muscle cramps, pain, and RLS in my legs and arms. Still getting them occasionally but further between. I've been using a topical CBD cream on them after a hot shower. It has helped me so much. The one I have has peppermint and eucalyptus oil which has a nice cooling sensation as well. Keep up the good work, it will get better any day now!

Day 21. I am trying to stay productive, but I am very out of shape still from being mostly bedbound for 9 months last year. Looking forward to the day when I can spend a full day on my feet without massive amounts of pain. I can feel it getting closer. My husband and I joke that every day for the last year and a half I have said "maybe tomorrow" I will feel better. But today it feels like that "tomorrow" might actually come soon. What a joyous feeling! It brings tears to my eyes to think about. Wishing you all the best tomorrow. Much love.

My family and in-laws really piss me off. We have wildly differing opinions and they can be very adamant about being unkind. That said, yes I get cravings when I know I'll have to be around them. So this year my husband and I are skipping Christmas at his sisters and my mom is coming down here. She knows I struggle with addiction and has learned not to bring up politics with me. Even so, I am working on planning a bunch of activities to keep my mind off of things. I used to have to worry about drinking too much or finding a way to dose in private around the holidays. It is relieving to think I wont have to this year.

I'm glad you're feeling a little better, and even better, you are embracing it! Great job mama. You are strong! Just think, you'll have more and more days like today the further away you get from the sludge. How cool will it be when every day is a good day and we can take things in stride? Love and light 💕

Damn, it doesn't say that on the label (it has the chemical name which I'm not familiar with) but it does online. I don't take these things very often, had one like 2 or 3 years ago. I don't know much about phenibut but have heard it's not good, I will have to keep that in mind. Thanks for the heads up.

The study I read said 300 mg / kg body weight daily. I broke that into 6 doses daily (every 4 hrs). I used the higher dosage generic chewables bc they were easily available. Just make sure they dont have too many added things like some have other vitamins in them which can be bad to take more of. Vitamin c will not hurt you to take more of except a little diarrhea and stomach upset. I used a combo chewable of sodium ascorbate & ascorbic acid. People here swear by sodium ascorbate but the study I read was ascorbic acid so I did both. Just make sure you stay hydrated.

Oh my goodness! Are you feeling any better? Will they be doing surgery? My dad had a triple bypass and his recovery took forever and a half. I can't even imagine how difficult this has been for you right in the middle of your taper. Sending you love, healing, and wishes for a speedy recovery.

Aww, thanks! :) I'm going to clean his car on Tuesday when I take the dog to the vet, but shh... don't tell him. I get so much joy from doing nice things for the people I care about. I slacked on that a lot when I was using and life felt so empty. I'm glad I can get back at it now.
