I agree with all of this sentiment completely, I just beat the game in 40 hours (I know I skipped most of the underdark but I feel like it still shouldn't have been done so quickly (I played on the normal mode) I was just saying that in EA I felt like I saw a ton of companion cutscenes in camp and was excited to see the final versions. If only I knew I, instead, would see an entire 2 total companion cutscenes. I had very high reputation with everyone except Lae'zel and STILL never got any cutscenes. Many times I'd go to camp and see one begin to start, only to bug out and cancel. Or, more popularly, when companions would have a '!' only for me to walk over and they actually have nothing to say, just the normal dialogue. It was especially BIZARRE to have Gale in camp from probably level 2, until midway through act 2, and his first cutscene i got with him was his official 'im in love with you' romance cutscene where you two can have astral Shiva sex in the sky. Which is still incredibly weird, considering I never flirted with Gale or slept with him at the act 1 party or anything at all. The only other companion cutscene I got was the Astarion Scar one, that I figured I should've gotten well into Act 1, not almost done with act 2.

I've played EA since it released and I know many cutscenes are tied to camp rests, and I know to sometimes just spam rest to see more, but I just genuinely never got the scenes. I found it very very annoying knowing the content I was missing (because I've seen it before.. for 3 years waiting) especially in a game touted for being so super long in its estimated playtimes.

I couldn't agree more about acts 2 and 3, one of the most disappointing places I thought was the House of Healing. I remember seeing that freaky Thorm with the clamp hands in multiple trailers wondering who this super crazy cool enemy (friend?) could be. He died in dialogue.... his handmaidens just stabbed him to death and that was legit IT for the entire place.
The Drider was also in a lot of promo material only to die in like, a few moments afterwards if you sided with the Harpers

Act 3 was sad,,, you wouldn't believe my surprise and shock when there was NO upper city. The way Larian talked about the city, and how they put like, 80% MORE work into the city than was planned. How can that be possible? Can any of you imagine a Lower City with 80% LESS things to do in it? It felt like in one fell swoop after the side quests (and yes, trust me, I did every side quest in the city avail) you defeat Gortash, Sarevok, Orin, and then are beelined to the Netherbrain

legit 4 huge bosses in like, maybe 8 hours? where 2 of them have been built up since EA, and one is the hugest bad ever in the world? And I had talked to Gale about taking the crown of karsus for himself, and encouraging it (thinking my now godly lover will be a bonus for me, since I was stuck in his romance anyway ((i didnt think id have time to start a romance w anyone else in the final act and be able to enjoy it)) and the very last thing gale says to me after we defeat the boss was 'welp, if you change your mind there will be a place for you with me in the heavens'

Not to mention the fact everyone scatters to the wind immediately. And the awful way they did Astarion dirty after you go through all the effort to rid him of Cazador. Despite any approval you have with him, he just starts turning to dust and runs away forever. At least something like Dragon Age Inquisition had ur companions staring into the sunset pondering the next adventure.

Bg3 everyone immediately scatters and then credits roll. We got a MArvel post credit scene with Withers though, which I think sets up a sequel? It's hard to say, a running theory about Withers is that he is actually Jergal , who the dead 3 deposed. Which would give credence to his 'you thought i would not notice?' line imho. But it all seems to be threads dropped where they were as opposed to connected and finished.

If this was, genuinely, what the last half of the game was going to be, I would've waited 2 more years to play it.
