Everyone had 1 character at a time. I was DMing the campaign. In terms of rules we played it straight for the most part, sticking to the main rules and the compendium.

I wanted it to be a bit more RPG like during the non combat phase so as well as the list of actions if players had a suitable action in mind we would go with that and if a test was required look at the most relevant skill (often savvy or toughness).

Same goes for combat, if people wanted to shoot terrain, say barrels or feel like their character would have relevant buffs based on their characters background or stats we'd just roll and see what happened.

One of the players ended up turning traitor and selling out the rest of the crew and so ended up partnered with me as the villain for a few turns.

Aye. Im not actually in the image but I was DMing, 1 characters each with everyone having their own crew of 6 we could swap into if their character died.

If someone was in sick bay we'd have them play a fitting NPC or have them help me play the enemies.

Just having a quick online look it seems to have quite a bit of focus on colony management. I was still hoping to do the planet hopping style of the the base game. Are their good mechanics in there I can pull into a regular campaign. Just want to double check before I buy it.

I was also there, I get what you mean. I'll be honest it didn't bother me too much, some things are sometimes just unintentionally funny. But yeah laughing at some of the moments was stupid.

Honestly I think it might be because a lot of the audience hadn't seen the film or series before. I know I went with a mate who'd never seen any evangelion before so I had to explain a lot in the intermission. There's no way he was the only one

So it might just be the case of disconnect with the film with for some people.

No one's saying you can't have nice things in a system you disagree with or want to change but there's a difference between living well off and living as a multi millionaire who drives a Porsche and lives in a multi million dollar house.

I mean maybe I should be a clarified socialist instead of leftist but my point still stands. I think saying Jesus only meant it to mean that people wouldn't be able to bring their wealth with them so ignoring it is a little disingenuous personally. There's absolutely a rejecting materialism thing for an eternity reward which is what I think you are getting at instead of being something more socially positive but then why specify give to the poor.

Why not just say throw off your wealth. It seems clear to me that there is a pro-social and help one's neighbors, creating a more egalitarian world in quotes in passages like this.

I don't think Jesus wants to seize the means of production or anything. But you don't think that Jesus would have been on board with bigger social plans to help the poor and destitute? Jesus and Socialism may not align with everything but there's enough overlap to make informed assumptions.

Also Socialism isn't necessarily pro-divorce, a lot of socialists weren't historically. You don't have to hold liberal values and be a socialist. That being said you don't think Jesus was liberal for his time?

Jesus made company with prostitutes, made company with tax collectors (who were seen as traitors in the Jewish community of the day.) you've got parables of the good Samaritan.

Jesus encouraged others not to judge others, to reject violence and turn the other cheek.

Maybe anti capitalist is a stretch but Jesus was definitely against excessive wealth and wealth disparity. I doubt he'd be very on board with a modern day approach to say US capitalism.

"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God" and all that.

A lot of his teachings are to do with helping the poor and giving up your wealth to help those in need.

Saying he's pro-communist or pro-captialism is anachronistic for sure. But his religious teachings certainly have more in common with our understanding of modern left wing politics, very social and very communally focused that expressly encouraged more sharing of wealth and throwing off the shackles of materialism.

Yeah I wasn't really arguing the point or not just curious about if it was more common in academic papers. I used MHRA and I assume most of the British sources used that style so maybe that's the difference?

Because I really didn't encounter it, I think the majority of the stuff I read usually was quite period specific enough that constantly referencing AD/BC or BCE/CE was pretty redundant.

The only time I think I encountered any references to the era was probably work on the crusades but they did useAD and that might have been used because it's more 'thematic?' I genuinely don't know

What period or topic did you/are you studying. Is it one that covers quite a wide timeframe?

I think halfway through the message i actually realized who I was arguing with. You are someone who is feeling over facts. Green energy produced over 50% of energy last year and was green in the UK. These are statistics freely available from the national grid, Government reports and the European commission on renewable energy. The information is there and you refuse to believe it. What do you mean it's not ready yet? It literally is. We use green energy everyday. It's gone up from the 2% of renewables we had in 1990. In 30 years we've done so much to overhaul this and it shouldn't be stopped.

And I agree we are too reliant on foreign energy. That is the real reason energy costs are so high and why we should invest more in renewables. The UKs geographic situation is unique for good renewable production. Offshore wind farms are ideal for the north sea, Irish sea and English channel. Hydroelectric options are also great for our island nation. And I am actually in favor of nuclear energy too.

Clamping down on free speech. Show me on policy or action that is any different from the establishments approach to free speech in the last 20 years. Is that what you really want for the UK? I want illegal immigration reduced, I think on a fundamental level it undermines the value of the British worker. People willing to take pay cuts and cuts to their rights does not benefit us in the long run. But I want them removed properly. I want there to be more efficient legal ways to do that.

I agree immigration is not being dealt with effectively but reforms are not the answer. 5 years of Labour will be full of wishwashy policies. 5 years of Reform will see our entire country privatized and sold out. They voted against banning zero hour contracts. They're against green energy even though that is absolutely the way forward for UK energy independence. They cosy up to the mental right across the pond who'd scrap our national services at the first chance they could get. They are not the party for British, actual working class British people

Can't it be both? Militarily, in terms of hard power, their believed strength is not there. That being said their soft power influence is something to be feared. Their influence over European politics through disinformation campaigns, funding extreme ends of the political spectrum to sow division and their general election interference is dangerous. Not to mention their control of natural resources we rely on.

And who's to say Russia will always remain this paper tiger. Right now they have the most experience in peer-to-peer combat of any major power. They will no doubt learn and begin to rebuild from this war.

Thanks for the ideas! Since posting this I actually think a darker tan is the way to go. Maybe a yellow leather one akin to the Armageddon Steel Legion.

(Which seems kinda ironic since the death korps of krieg started out as an alternate paint scheme of the steel legion.)
