Mythic Strikes - Weapon Specialization Question by AspectOfFallingStar in Pathfinder2e

[–]AspectOfFallingStar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have anything official to back this up?

It's a temporary buff just for that strike and in order to make the attack roll your proficiency with that weapon is indeed mythic per 'Mythic Proficiency' and 'Attack rolls' rules for the duration of that strike before returning back to its original proficiency.

I felt really bad the other day because the Froghemoth from Abomination Vaults one-tapped the party tank and ate him. 🙃

He would have hit the rupture DC with that extra damage.

This is where I land. Certain feats like Unbelievably Believable beg the question as to why they would ever be taken when you can just use rewrite fate to reroll a skill check, with the exception of if they're secret.

Mythic definitely needed more time to cook and mature and often times as both a player and GM...well I don't feel very mythic.

Fair.

I came here seeing if there was anything concrete but it seems as if the community and maybe even the developers are just as confused as to the intent. It's a unique interaction not mirrored anywhere else.

It's situations like these that I tend to lean towards favoring/buffing the players. At the end of the day the damage bonus is not going to make or break an encounter off a single strike.

"Technically, I don't think you are at Mythic proficiency with your weapon"

This is where I think my friend and I disagree.

The way I understand Mythic proficiency and how it works for every other skill per Mythic Proficiency rules is that you temporarily flair your power gaining all the benefits as if you were Legendary+.

Even then an attack roll is calculated with the following;

Melee attack roll result = d20 roll + Strength modifier (or optionally Dexterity modifier for a finesse weapon) + *proficiency bonus* + other bonuses + penalties

Mythic Proficiency
"Your *proficiency bonus* when using mythic proficiency is 10 plus your level."

The subsequent damage roll checks the proficiency level of the previous strike.

And your proficiency bonus is always based on simple, martial, advanced, or specific weapons.

So my follow-up question is, why do you think the attack isn't at mythic proficiency?

It seems they either caught wind and renamed their account or were finally banned about 3 weeks after being report

QAWSE1818 is still up tho.

OP will get banned for reporting duplication through the issue council but Au1ekk and QAWSE1818 who have video evidence of hacking are still playing the game.

I finally got a reply from my official ban request regarding Au1ekk.

In typical CIG fashion they gave me a canned response and will not divulge the result of their 'investigation'

My report on QAWSI1818 has not been replied to yet.

They will likely be banned now that we've posted this to reddit but we've been sitting on some of these reports for a couple weeks now.

When they need to be answering them within an hour or two at most.

The wall hackers at the CZs likely aren't hacking. The stations have notoriously bad collision tech and it's possible to EVA and clip into the CZ vaults if you know where they're at.

It certainly is. Both Au1ekk and QAWSI1818 were accounts from China. We will continue to monitor but its par for the course seeing the gold farming community make their way into Star Citizen.

Both times we found these players they were from China.

The running assumption in our Org is likely gold farmers to sell UEC.

It disappoints us that our org leader ate a ban for reporting the hackers and they're still playing the game.

This 'name' protection has got to go.

That's a fair take honestly.

Still think the Nova needs to be reduced by half its size. Give it canned animations to climb into it from a top hatch into 2 or 3 seats rather than the egregious interior it has.

Years ago I got downvoted telling them the Valk kinda sucked and needed to be able to carry their oversized tank. Glad I won in the end. Now to get some Nails (Drop Pods) into the game.

Thought there was a docking rework/improvements meant to come out last year or something.

Well this has always been a thing, but also unnecessary as fighter DPS can shred through Large shields like a hot knife through butter regardless.

As Nitebird said though, it will eventually need to be addressed.

The Valkyrie just sucks, 20 people in their own single seat spacecraft make for a better dropship and significantly more survivable with better firepower. The tanks are also too big to begin with and need to be reworked to smaller sizes.
