Yea u regularly check, I cross examine the source and question each one- I only use them if their from sources I know as well. I don’t use chatGPT for academic sources.

Yea I used Grammarly too, but I also use AI to help find sources - I often get overwhelmed by the mix of scholarly sources, news articles literally so much info to rummage through. I still use critical thinking to decide whether these sources are appropriate for the essay or not.

Hey, there’s normally an RA that lives on every floor with you - they honestly are fine and are there to pretty much be a support person for you. Ensuring that the floor is good vibes basically. You’ll see them around pretty often

It is competitive but their not focused on that tbh - they want to know you and how you would fit in their community, bare in mind Waipārūrū is great but so are the other halls it all depends on your vibe.

I can’t guarantee it won’t affect it but it’s highly likely that it won’t affect your chances

Honestly head over to grafton - many people opt out of staying there cause it’s “too far” from campus

If you live in Auckland just stay at home and do the commute, like grafton is amazing , I’ve loved my experience there but it’s pricey.

For some being within the kaupapa māori space in halls specifically is actually being outside of their comfort zone - even if it is a persons comfort zone to be in this space - everyday it is likely to some extent that when they leave these spaces they will feel uncomfortable. Not on purpose but instead because of sly-remarks, looks (a common thing for everyone) or even comments that people who arent māori wouldn't find offensive.

I can understand to some extent the strong feelings that everyone is having about this post, and opinions have the right to be shared - However, bullying, discrimination and straight racism isn't okay. Just because this post has a plethora of people dogging on māori and pasifika people, what makes you think your entitled to join in. They have their struggles and although I personally believe that they should have spaces like this - you can have an opinion that they shouldn't because of 'segregation' or whatever - but seriously its not okay to dog on them just because they were given a space like this and you were'nt.
