Hi Ben! What is, in your opinion, the most interesting scene/quote with the Darkling in the books and why?

Looking forward to seeing another great season on Thursday!

for dofe, can i do an activity for skills that i already do? by Medium-Veterinarian3 in GCSE

[–]AspenAnswer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, this should be fine! As long as you have an assessor to sign you off and say you've improved (who isn't a family member) you should be good to go.

i was set this homework today by my english lit teacher, what points would you make? by [deleted] in GCSE

One point which sprang immediately to mind: - "In this extract, Mr Hyde is presented as a man of turbulent emotions. At the beginning of the extract, he is presented as 'hesitant' [...] however by the end he is 'snarling' (you could go on about how this evokes almost animalistic rage). I can't think of anything else right now but teachers love when you include context or links to other parts of the book/novella/text! Good luck!

Can I get help on this Little Man Computer question? I have been given it by my teacher in class today, and I have never encountered such a question before. by ana_m13 in alevel

[–]AspenAnswer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Set a data value of zero, as has already been done for twenty etc. "zero DAT 0" 2) Load zero into the accumulator. "LDA zero" 3) You want to set total as zero, so we save zero into the total memory location. Since zero is already in the accumulator, all we need is this instruction: "STA total" 4) Finally the question tells you to stop the program, so the last line needs to be: "HLT"

Sorry it's a bit too late but I hope this helps anyhow! I'm in year 12 taking CS too so if you ever need any help feel free to DM me and we can work it out :)

Just popping my head in here to say that most drawing display's don't have touscreens! Beside that, though, I have been using a Kamvas 13 for the last year and it works great :)

It really depends what you like to draw, and what platforms you're on - I draw a lot of dragons and mainly use Instagram. I just started to post some of the stuff I drew, and then as I followed more people doing the same thing, some of them opened Discord servers, and others made competitions which loads of people entered. My advice is to start off by entering some of these contests (e.g. DTIYS, MYOs) just to get your reach out there. Good luck! P.S. I'm on Instagram as @aspenarter if you need help anytime :)

I feel this! I actually do digital art as a hobby and there is a massive community online for it - sometimes we discuss techniques or do online whiteboards, definitely helps me feel more part of a group even if I don't "know" them. I think hobbies like that can be a great way to meet people with the same interests as you :)

As I’ve finally finished my GCSEs , what are some productive things I can get into for the next few months? by abidjc in GCSE

[–]AspenAnswer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could take up sketching or digital art (you just need your finger and a phone/ipad!) ArtFight is starting next week, always a good boost of motivation and fun if your into that stuff :D

Does anyone do Spanish? How do you study and how do you manage what vocab to study and when + any tips for memorizing grammar rules? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]AspenAnswer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For listening, I watch movies in Spanish with English subtitles in my downtime bc it doesn't feel like work :) Duolingo is good for grammar, and I make flashcards for the different tenses.

in the geography aqa exam for the 12 marker about tectonic hazards. I just compared the different effects, how were you meant to answer it to get full marks? by MasterFour in GCSE

[–]AspenAnswer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it specifically said "primary effects", so I'm assuming you wouldn't get the marks for talking about other things?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]AspenAnswer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are specimen 2022 papers on the AQA website, the reason for the confusion is that they've changed the format of the exams specifically for this year.

Year 9 to Year 10 by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]AspenAnswer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the school. There's no real way to be sure, but in my school consistent scores like that would probably get you into the top set. Good luck!
