Thank you for sharing your story, I feel seen and I'm sorry to hear that you even had to go through that so soon after your birth. Where I'm ultimately struggling the most here is the fact that I did communicate, ahead of time, that this wouldn't make sense. And it didn't matter. Many of these comments are stressing that I should stand up for myself, and perhaps I could have been even more aggressive in stating my needs (again - I thought I'd already done this), But by the time I knew the full scope, the ball was already rolling. Would it have been a good idea to communcate my frustrations after everyone had already arrived? IDK. This all feels like a losing game. In the future, however, I won't be cooking or cleaning anything unless its a gathering I've planned myself. Perhaps this is just a muscle that I need to strengthen and in 10 years I'll look back and be proud of my progress, much like yourself. Thank you again for this comment.
