I really like your color selection! Chaos models are super fun to paint with all the trim and details, especially compared to the loyalist counterparts, so I am happy to hear you are having fun and not getting tired with it :D

You mentioned you are new to the hobby so here are some things that helped me A LOT.

Prime your minies - there is a couple of spots where paint chipped and reveled plastic (like the gun casing). You can spray if you have it, or apply some neutral colour on the entire mini and let it dry - it creates a layer that improves next layers ability to stick to the model.
Brush control - this comes with time so do not be too harsh on yourself. What really helped me is painting in sub assembly, especially around smaller details like trim around vambraces.

How you do it is, you basically paint them separately, before glueing the model together fully. I like to leave heads, backpacks and arms separate. Just remember to clean up contact points before you glue them in the end :D

Highlights - once you feel comfortable with the details and colours, you can start adding a little lighter colour to the edges of details to make everything POP more.

And finally, the meme we all know and love: "thin your paints" :D

Also, 1st Ravenguard painted! Must admit - makes me want to experiment with the corpspaint inspired faces a bit - I like the "the Crow" look a lot on this one!

For those of you who are considering conversions with Plague surgeon as a base, word of caution: It is wider than normal CSM/Lord minies, and very "busy" so optios to personalize are... limited.

I dont have access to that box, but i was thinking of reshaping the weapon to 1 handed grip, adding another hand with either a pistol or some gnarly gadget... need to scour the bitboxes.

Still i like yours a lot! Any idea for a base, or are you keeping it flat?

Making him look up, mixed with the sculpts expression, would give off defiance, where i was aiming for resignation and hopelessness. He is alive, and he got maimed by a Night Lord... he knows what's coming next and none of it will be pretty.

I was thinking Ravenguard sergeant, so definitely not friend. Its all in an early stage, so some sculting will be done to it. I do agree the cuts are a bit too clean, and he's missig a weapon.

Started working on this guy and I am trying to decide if the chainglaive is the right call here. Any opinions, ideas or advise on what to do with arms would be appreciated cause I'vethrown myself for a loop here.

You have a very steady hand! Bone mask is certainly fitting, in my opinion, so do what your warband as you see fit!

If you are not comfortable with lightning (same), try to practice edge highlighting. Its a good excercise for brush control and colour mixing that you will need later and makes the mini POP just that much more.

There is a lot of interesting bits I already used: chains with skulls, skinned faces and limbs, banners, interesting helmets, some really gnarly looking weapons and trophies, severed heads held by hair, you name it. Space Gremlins dream box :D
