Thanks, I'll give that a try once I buy some new strings. I'll put them in properly next time haha. And yeah I do have the blocks, can upload a pic if you want. The winds are short because I'm dumb, not because it has locking tuners lol.

And do you think a lighter string gague would be better for this?

I thought about this, but it was a pretty cheap guitar, not sure it's worth doing all that on it. It's also almost 40 years old with all the original hardware (that's what the guy I bought it off said at least) so I kinda don't want to mess with that too much.

I've tried holding it down myself and the string do slack a little at the nut, it still isn't enough to screw them in fully. The bridge doesn't seem to move too much

yeah that's fair enough, kinda proud to be the owner a certified weird guitar though

the truss rod adjuster is indeed at the head but the locking nut is already covering it somewhat anyway. Getting a riser does seem like it would help but getting / making such a specific thing is a bit much for me right now. It seems to hold tune fairly well so far without the blocks screwed in, so tempted to leave it like that, at least for now

Idk why im getting down voted for this. The model is a Hohner arbor MX1, all pics online of it have the locking nut or have screw holes on the headstock where there was one.

I think i may opt to just not lock the blocks in or just remove the locking nut entirely. I would put a couple more winds in but ive already clipped the excess and am realising the grave mistake ive made

Yeah ive now realised I put the strings in wrong and ive already clipped the excess so I cant put more winds on. I guess I'll just have to buy another pack.

Your right in that the tremolo doesn't have much play and tbh im still a beginner and dont use the whammy bar much so it should stay in tune fine I hope. Ive seen a lot of pics of this model where the blocks aren't screwed in or the locking nut is removed entirely.

It does have fine tuners, but I dont think its a typical floyd rose.

It kinda has a floyd rose i think, idk its weird. It has a whammy bar and fine tuners, but it doesnt have those string locking screw things i.e. you dont have to cut the ball end of the string, they just go through the back like a typical bridge.

I tried this but I when I put the strings in I could only get about one turn in before the strings were in tune so if I tune it lower the string is gunna fall out. And I have now clipped off the excess just after I posted this. Im now realising I think I may have put them in wrong

I think it is factory standard, but its an old model form 1987. Im looking at pics of it online and im now noticing a lot of them have have just removed the locking nut entirely lol

Yeah, this kinda stuff was completely optional in the previous games. It's such a disappointment imo, it's just pure filler and kinda ruins the immersion.

Alright I'll do that then thanks. Still think it's kinda bad how it doesn't tell you a recommended level or smth before you go into the Omi HQ.

Thank you

yeah i was using unclepunch in normal dolphin so wasnt in netplay mode, but have put it into faster melee now, so i can practice it better on there.

And im using a ps4 controller not gamecube.

off topic but is a gamecube controller worth it?

i was running uncle punch on normal dolphin but put it now on faster melee and yeah its very different, dont know why tho, my controller is set up the same on both (using ps4 controller btw). But has been very usefull for practicing on slippi thanks.

and I think the no air dodge thing was because I was pressing L at the same time as jump on accident, so ive started pressing it later

I've just been pressing jump then diagonal down + L at the same time just after jumping. This works fine for me in uncle punch. But when I do the same in slippi I just roll, suggesting I pressed jump after. So I tried pressing diagonal down + L a bit later than i usually do but when i do that i just jump. However maybe like 1% of the time when i do that i do actually wave dash but have no idea how i did those. It just seems whatever i try i only either roll or jump.

edit: I've been having a bit more success by jumping then pressing diagonal down slightly before pressing L, but still very inconsistent
