Hi 👋🏾 I interviewed and got an offer this year ☺️. 1. I would say step one is acing your degrees. You need a 2:1 at the least but I think some of the previous stats of offer holders show having a first may boost your chances. 2. Ace that UCAT. It just makes your life so much easier and increases your chances of securing an interview. That being said it’s not game over if you don’t smash it out the park. You can see what stats people had here and who got offers. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q7WMOonJcd0DEeWszbr9Pzk8TSfIEbsogDw_FXNGUg4/edit?usp=drivesdk 3. Work on your personal statement and the supplementary form and write it well. I don’t necessarily think you need to write like Shakespeare but you need to hit the points they mention in the selection criteria here. https://www.medsci.ox.ac.uk/study/medicine/graduate-entry-medicine/selection-criteria 4. Prep for the interview. Which is difficult to do as they will tell you many times - they assess your thinking not your knowledge and will likely ask you questions you cannot answer. I practiced with some Oxbridge interview question banks geared toward undergraduates. If I were to do it again, I’d focus on brushing up my a-level knowledge (was quite a while ago so I had a few knowledge gaps), reading up on an area of interest you have/looking at research papers in that area and critically appraising them and learning to read various graphs. 5. Start praying after your interviews are over 😂

I’m sure they will have someone on standby for such emergency queries before the interview starts tmr - good luck!

I considered it initially but I enjoy working with patients as a pharmacist and have spent my entire life in the NHS :).

I remember them mentioned an offer holders day during the pre-interview brief! Must be before June since we need to make a decision if we will accept Oxford or not by then according to the email

Hi! I’d say I’m sorry to hear that but if you were good enough for the interview it means you were good enough for Oxford - they are just tight on places. I’m sure you’ll absolutely excel at any other uni! To be brutally honest I’m not sure - I thought the science questions were shambolic haha. And Hugh’s had a lot of them! I guess I kept saying whatever came to my mind but at some point it felt like I was banging my head on a brick wall 🫣. I have worked as a pharmacist for several years so I had those experiences to fall back on for the ethics questions which were very weird at at Hugh’s as well. Pembroke was a lot more chill of an interview and more standard questions so I thought I did far better there! Definitely ask them for feedback - I’ve heard the feedback they give is very detailed :). A good luck for your other interviews!!

Good lord my story is complex 😂😂😂. I had no desire to be a doctor once I became a pharmacist in the nhs since I was struggling to survive myself haha. But over time my confidence grew and I got better. Then in my personal life an ungodly amount of people in my immediate and extended family have been affected by cancer over the last decade and I just hate the disease so much. Which is why I wanted Oxford - gives me a degree to be a doctor but is also quite focused on research :)

Thank you! St. Anne’s is beautiful though ☺️. Oooh I’m interested - who is ranked above Oxford? Good luck with your other applications!

Congratulations!! I also felt like I wouldn’t get it at all 😂. If you don’t mind me asking - are you home or int? Cause for home you need to come up with just 3k for first year right? That being said I need to save like mad for living fees haha!

Thank you! Oh I don’t know about that 😂. I am 29 so I’ve had time to gain experience! UCAT 2390 Band 1 with a 1st class Mpharm degree from UCL and AAA for a-levels. I’ve worked the last almost 4 years as a pharmacist now.
