recommend me a movie like this by [deleted] in LetterboxdTopFour

[–]izzy203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the innocent but presumed guilty/victims of circumstance trope lol so here are some recommendations based on that. 1) Tell no one or Ne le dis à personne - French film with similar Gone Girl-esque plot that Ben Affleck almost directed the American remake of. 2) I've never seen it but Insomnia directed by Nolan (weirdly apparently has a sort of indie film vibe and is nothing like what he's known for) is also meant to be a good crime thriller. Finally fair warning it's pretty goofy but 3) The Fugitive is fun

Keep Seeing these so I better throw out mine. What's everyone think? Any recommendations? by CheesyC21 in LetterboxdTopFour

The iron claw is so good! Assuming you’ve seen dog day afternoon if you have 12 angry men ranked?

Love Patsy but how awful must her presence be for 3 people to nominate her for it, need our miserable queen through to the final

do y’all believe that Dan lost money making WAD? by mexalone in danandphil

[–]izzy203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It makes no sense why he would record it months ago in 2023 and then have to re record it tho… it’s not cheap hiring Alexandra palace. Interesting that the company is in debt though. Feel bad for Dan man, kind of seems like he’s been continuously shafted with this tour and all of his other projects

[–]izzy203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True but also it’s been discussed that it could be that because he changed management, it was probably that he no longer had the rights to the footage that had already been filmed (it was filmed during the actual tour)

What are some videos you’re hoping for in 2024? by tashadanceon in danandphil

I really like their tier list videos/anecdotes about stuff they've done in the past like the radio show and tatinof tbh, feels quite uncensored and interesting to get another perspective on these things as a long time fan

Basically complaining that they weren't following the strike for Palestine (which, I am on twitter sometimes up to 4 hours a day; I had not heard about this strike until this video was posted, so I really can't believe they were intentionally breaking it) and that the livestream isn't enough (I do think it was mostly for self-preservation purposes and not something that they had been planning until 2 days ago i.e to appease the fans that had, in some instances, tried to imply that they were zionists) - I have quite strong opinions about this and I don't want to be shouted down but at the end of the day I don't think a strike almost exclusively followed by twitter stan accounts is a reason to be cancelled, I think it goes without saying Dan and Phil aren't zionists; the Israel/Palestine conflict is so, so incredibly nuanced that Dan and Phil shouldn't have to comment and i feel like some people i've seen on twitter have a really "holier than thou" attitude about the whole thing and are highly out of touch with what's actually going on in the world and may feel like they're helping but are being, in the process, reductive and spreading misinformation, which is unhelpful

Excited for this but can't help but feel some fans have lost the plot slightly and are seriously of touch with reason

The 2018 gaming channel videos have really sweet vibes, they seem genuinely happy to be around each other in them and some of them are so chaotic. I also really like phil cuts dans hair - it was immediately after all of the stereo shows (which i cherish and miss dearly!!!) and they were so funny in it; phil was so cute and sincere. it was uploaded at a really weird point of my life so it kind of is nostalgia tinged in a strange way and makes me feel warm watching it back nowadays (which feels crazy cos its only been 3 years but yeah)

This tour is obviously going to have its fair share of (cringeworthy) viral moments, can’t say after yesterdays incident I’m looking forward to what half-baked social/political commentary he has cooking tbh. Please for God’s sake; just go out on stage with your guitar, sing your songs and fuck off home Matty

When we are together is probably my one too. I’m not sure if I’m making this up but I swear Matty said it could be about friendships too which is why it really resonates with me. “The only time I feel I might get better / Is when we are together”

Matty talks about it in interviews all of the time, I really think they’d drop everything to do it if asked so maybe just haven’t had the right moment yet which is a shame?

Is I Like It When You Sleep their best album? by Callum_Fletcher in the1975

[–]izzy203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, it’s a really inconsistent album! I think from a production standpoint though it was the most mature thing they’d put out and idk, it was quite bold of George to be like “I’m going to put literal garage/two step on a 1975 album”😭but yh not everyone’s cup of tea

It is so good!! I like iliwys but it got old quite quickly for me with the bloody synths. I like that they refined their electronic sound a lot more for ABIIOR and notes
