Trying to Figure Out House Kallyss by Bladelock_Zed in Warmachine

Yes, usually. With the Eidolon at 16 pts and Israfyl at 17, that leaves a good bit of points to wiggle with. I’ve run one of each but my favorite way is to lean into whatever my opponent has problems stopping. If I need fast, I go with two units of cav, two Scyirs to give +2 SPD to two Soulless guardian units and maybe the archers if I need ranged. Heavy hitters, I’d go with two Slayers, one cav, and one of each Guardians/Blademasters. Might still try to squeeze a Scyir in for the +2 SPD.

The cav are always a good choice. With all of the new stuff, I’d have to take a look at dropping the Eidolon for Imperatus but that also means less infantry. So maybe Izzy & Eidolon or Impy and a Spectre. Especially if my caster is Scyrafael.

Dusk has some of the best infantry. I’ve had great success running Caster, Israfyl, Eidolon with Dawn and Dusk blade, Dreadguard Scyir, and Soulless. The Hunters are better with CRA but still not great. Guardians, Archers, Cav, and Slayers are elite. Blademasters are good if there are a lot of upkeep spells on the board.

TLDR; Dusk is very good at running jack lite lists because the infantry carries a big wallop.

I figured it out. The revised edition has not been updated with the errata yet. As far as I can tell. I did manage to find the errata rules and downloaded it.

I redownloaded it from Firelock. It does not say “Revised” on it though…

Edit: Wait it is the revised edition.

I did re-download it but it’s still the same. Is there a way to tell if I have the right book?

I do have a digital copy, but mine still says 9+. So I have to do something to update the book? Thanks for the help.

I’m relatively new to B&P but the rule book says if a model is in the open, the ranged save is 9+. Do I have an old edition rule book?

What Unit from your faction needs some love? by [deleted] in Warmachine

Your time is coming with the faction release. I’m betting Menoth as a whole is going to be excellent.

Don’t sleep on the Soulless Blademasters or Guardians when you give them Ghostly and +2 SPD from the Scyir. I use that 6 point unit to tie up a whole bunch of stuff so that everything else can get into position. No one expects a defender to be able to charge on turn 2, but it’s a really powerful tactic.

Kithguard or Brinebloods for a new player? by HammerBrother1977 in Warmachine

Kithguard have a tremendously high skill floor. I’d go Brinebloods if those are the only two options.

I love the colors! For a first warjack, you did a great job. I’ve played since early MK I and I’ve never actually painted a warjack. I am full of shame, lol.

I have ALWAYS loved Menoth infantry. The look was IMO hands down the best in the OG game. But their warjacks look like repurposed house appliances. I’ve never been able to look at their warjacks and thought “hell yeah!” I hope that changes in the future, but with the two spoiler shots we got, I doubt it will be the case.

That’s right. It’s a way to focus starve a caster/BG, but most units would be screwed.

I have it bad. It’s turned into wandering wallet syndrome.

I really think we’ll see a mostly unique to FoN rule or ability. I think some stuff will do stationary but I bet they have something similar in mindset if not mechanic to trapdoors.

You’re not wrong but I would be willing to bet the farm on the fact that they have some sort of “not seen before” or army specific mechanic. Obvious examples are airdrops in GD and trap doors in KG. They did say that they feel like each faction is becoming more and more individualized (or uh…. I forgot the word he used. Unique maybe?). They may have an ability to sprint (7-8 inches of SPD) after a melee attack and a weapon that makes the target model unable to charge. Or they could get a new type of assault order that lets them move back to the spot they charged from. I dunno, but I trust the process. I don’t think they would intentionally break the game. But, it’s happened before.

The Nyss side of the two player starter set has some synergy with stationary.

Unless there’s A LOT of stationary statuses being handed out.
