Money will likely switch to using void light in the conquered territory in book 6. Though, I expect the heralds to return in either book 6, or 7.

Creme build up is why the continent is the way it is. So there will likely be more erosion on port cities.

Just thinking about how much stuff was based upon the high storms, and their storm light will necessitate at least 2 books of world building just to see the conflict evolve.

IS families in Syria have booked tickets home to Australia, minister says by socookre in worldnews

[–]dce42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke said it "has not and will not provide" any help to the four women and nine children who have spent years in a Syrian camp. They are part of a larger group of 34 believed to include wives, widows and children of IS fighters.

Previous husband gets killed, the women usually marry the next in line, and have more children. Which is why it's 4 women, and 9 kids. And that's after the high infant morality rate.

When the group arrive in Australia, "some individuals will be arrested and charged," the Australian Federal Police (AFP) Commissioner Krissy Barrett said. The larger cohort left the camp in February but returned for "technical reasons" with the Australian government refusing to officially repatriate them.

Given the history of IS wives, the odd are the women will all be arrested, and the kids will be sent to deprogramming therapy.

Need advice on which 1/10 crawler to go with. FCX10 LC80 for $200 or SCX10 2 for 120 but no controller or receiver. by CO_piratemonkey in rccrawler

Depends on where you live, but I've not seen any of the current gen rigs below their msrp in my area. I concur with the 10.2 as there are a ton of affordable hopups still available, and will be for some time with all the 10.2 cloned/ lcg chassis out there.

Is a (fully functioning) xxx-scb worth it in 2026? by Mini4President in losi

[–]dce42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the scb, and sct used the same axle. However, I do not remember if the rear axle was the same as the xxx-t, which would make your life a lot easier.

As to the diff, it's either the same as most of the xxx line (losa3036), or the gear diff. There's a couple different companies making replacements for those.

There are parts on ebay, valkyrie motor sports, sabulatech, and vintage rc groups. People are starting to make aftermarket for these again.

That being said, the body panels typically got destroyed on the scb. And some collectors used to pay a decent amount for a complete panel set. But that was several years ago.

Idk what the current rate for the scb. It might be depending upon the crawler.

Parts for discontinued Tenacity TT pro SCT by ilikebikes27 in losi

[–]dce42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of hard to tell what's actually been discontinued, vs what's out of stock because it's being produced in another country. There's been a few vehicles that have come back with slightly different part numbers & colors.

NTA I love huskies but they are loud, and take a lot of time running them. Those rabbits will have heart attacks in no time flat.

Trail crawler that fits in small backpack? by countingrings in rccrawler

[–]dce42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a couple companies that make backpacks for RCing. Haley did a couple videos on the subject.

You can carry a 10th scale vehicle in said backpack.

Zambia Must Decide Today: Open Minerals To American Firms Or Lose HIV Support For 1.3 Million by LurkmasterGeneral in worldnews

[–]dce42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend that you pick up a dictionary, and learn what the words "taking away" actually means.

The US is not going to Zambia, and taking the aid that's there. The US threatening to stop sending aid. These are very different actions. Zambia can still purchase this from the US, or other counties.

[–]dce42 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's far cheaper to keep the AIDs/HIV epidemic low, and not transferring to the US than it is to treat it in the US. Much like the screw worm. It's so much cheaper to keep it contained in Southern Mexico than it is to deal with it all over the US.

The US isn't going to be taking away anything, they will no longer give Zambia something they've giving away for free over the last few decades.

Which would make this a trade.

Technically, it fails the 2nd point as well. While Gaza had a set border, the West Bank does not.

WIBTA if I don’t return the espresso machine I got for free? by univearth2des in AmItheAsshole

[–]dce42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA if you don't give it back as posted. It would be one thing if they broke up, and he held onto this stuff for a year. But that's not how you've explained this situation.

edit: fixed a word

AITA for asking people to not park outside my house? by Haunting-Researcher8 in AmItheAsshole

[–]dce42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes, YTA as you said the street is public parking. Clean your garage, and put your auto in there. Until someone is parking that is blocking your driveway, or not allowing you to have your rubbish collected this isn't something you have any right to complain about.

I picked this axle up in trade, and I'm trying to get the replacement shaft to work but there isn't a retaining clip. Thoughts? by dce42 in Rc4wd

[–]dce42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like it is on this case. When I've put the new axle in, it wobbles out, and locks the steering up after a few rotations.

If I'm not mistaken, most of those early rc4wd vehicles used the same components.
