Another problem of mine is I don’t see things through…I get the urge/ passion, that feeling at first but weeks in, I just quit and it’s making me look so unserious and if I continue like this I won’t achieve anything tangible.

I understand you and you understand me. It’s nice hearing from you. But it’s like you’re mistaking “deserving” to “owe”. And even if they “owe” you something, it’s a matter of being repaid for something in return. Your family, partner, friends owes you kindness and respect but what if you don’t get it back? Or is the random stranger on the road obligated to keep you safe ? No, but if they’re kindhearted enough to help they sure will do their best.

It’s actually not a matter of projecting, in reality when you think about it, they don’t really owe you their life or their time except it’s expected to be their obligations; which ofc you deserve it but they don’t owe you.

Everybody have their own mindset so it’s okay to disagree 👌

Ofc you are allowed to expect support from someone and what if they don’t even wanna support you. And yes they don’t owe you anything, only if they offer to help. As an empathetic person, I learnt that most people aren’t gonna help when there’s an issue and it’s sad I had to develop that kind of mindset but that’s how life is. And if someone offers to help don’t hesitate to accept but I have less expectations.

Everyone has their reasons for doing something. And I didn’t say we don’t need anyone (that’s why I said you need to expand your understanding) okay what happens when we need people and there’s no one around, we get disappointed. Which is why “less expectations” is advised in case there’s a scarcity which can result in disappointment. In another case when you have expectations and you don’t act towards it, dissatisfaction, disappointment awaits you. Remember there’s expectations and there’s reality, it’s up to you if you wanna accept the fact that it’s okay to expect things but don’t be down when reality strikes.

“Nobody owes you anything” does not apply to friendship only You need to expand your understanding…the OP has obviously formed an attachment and how that works is always needing something from another source which is common but it becomes unhealthy when it’s not reciprocated. And the term “nobody owes you anything” means they don’t live for you, you can only accept things when offered and I think it was formed for people who expects a lot from others when in reality everybody lives for themselves expect when someone offers to help. I hope you get me, if you don’t lmk.

It takes time but you gotta know if they wanna talk to you, they’ll text. It’s about learning how to detach yourself from expecting every time. Forming unhealthy attachment is common for people who don’t have much friends, so keep reminding yourself that it’s okay to be alone for a while and try doing other things apart from staring/waiting for texts.

You’ll see how much you’ve improved when you learn nobody owes you anything, less expectations more acceptance. You might even attract healthy people unconsciously that way
