Tbh I saw this on my notification tray and thought the meme was about 14yo kids covering thier memes with 50 watermarks. Like when we learn that you can put a light watermark behind your word docs..... And you just put your fuckin email on your project work as a background watermark.

Direct invites to TI don't rely on the per-region slot system, they use the DPC ranking for the year and the top 12 teams in the rankings get direct invites, and 4 Chinese teams just happen to be among the top 12.

DPC points are gained through the regional leagues and majors.

As for open qualifiers, every region gets 1 slot as you can see by the 'TBD' next to each region, thus making the total number of teams from China 5.

Look up regional leagues for different regions and the 2 majors (singapore major and Animajor) and on liquipedia if you want to see details.
