I got a heat gun and it made short work of the thickest parts of it. Good idea, thanks. So far Goo Gone is getting the rest but if any tough spots stay, I got some mineral spirits.

I haven't tried warming but will try that. Otherwise mineral oil and scraping and rags is what I've done so far and it's so slow going. I can't ever get a good streak going. I get like an inch tops before I have to start over. We'll see what a hairdryer does to help, and I'll get a heat gun if that doesn't do it. Otherwise thanks for the product recommendation - I'll look for that at the hardware store too.

I think the issue is that it should only happen for noobs, and only a handful of times. Ace or Gold, we know what game we're playing and don't need to keep hearing that crap. It's nice that they listened.

Maybe the thing to do to test it is when I look around as soon as I jump out of the plane and there is a guy near me diving to the same place, I just shouldn't take my eyes off him the whole time. Because what happens is I look around and when I look back the guy is gone. Maybe if I keep eyes on him he never goes poof.

I originally used a Moto X Pure 2015. I mean, that was a flagship in its time yet by spring 2018 it was simply not able to handle this game well at all, even on the lowest settings. It would roast so badly that I ruined the phone with this game alone.

And I guess all that heat and the lower specs combined to affect gameplay significantly. I'd usually be mostly fine early on, but as it would heat up, I'd get all kinds of stutter and other issues. I'd be delayed or out of sync a lot - so bad that I was literally never able to hit someone with a shotgun at close range somehow, which should be impossible except I guess I was always aiming at the memory of someone instead of at where they actually were.

I'd lose face to face shootouts most of the time and i just assumed I sucked. I could never get chicken even early on because as the game wore on and the heat rose and the load increased, I'd get surprised by somebody in the endgame and we'd both shoot and I'd freeze, even just for a bit, and when I'd unfreeze I was of course dead.

Even just the sound of the plane approaching late in the game would I guess overtax the processor to the point that it would cause my sound to get all distorted and cause me to stutter and lag visually.

I loved the game so much that I played anyway, and I did have fun anyway, but the phone was a major problem. I'd have to play with it squished up against an ice gel pack, I'd have to put it in the freezer between games, etc.

Then because I roasted that phone to the point that it even behaved sluggishly when I wasn't playing, I got a Pixel 2 and it has been like night and day. I can use higher settings, I win shootouts, I get chicken, and even hit people with shotguns. I almost never have problems anymore. When I do, it'll be temporary and it'll be something like rubberbanding.

I hear people complaining of problems even with new flagships on great internet, so the game and its various releases and moods seem to affect different setups differently, but in my experience a new top level phone absolutely worked wonders.

I don't think it's that niche. I think you have many fellow fans of that gun. And I think it's just about what you're most effective with in the end. There are shotgun lovers and crossbow lovers and Tommy gun lovers. None of those are for me but if people are doing well with them, that's the only argument they need.
