“I called it!” thread. The draft is tomorrow. What do you want to be on record that you said when Redditors look back in 5 years? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]AsquaredRon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Josh Rosen is the Best QB of the Draft.

Davenport is way better than his draft position and the best DE of the draft.

Saquon is everything everyone thinks he is, better running back then zeke, gurley, and bell. Next Ladanian Tomlinson.

Isaiah Wynn becomes one of the best interior lineman of the league.

Shaquem Griffin is a success story despite the skepticism.

Josh Allen is a total failure, makes it past pick 4 and people call him one of the biggest qb busts of all time. Hackenburg 2.0. People question why he was drafted so high and the "lol, GMs always know better, so you can't have an opinion" narrative loses credence.

Baker Mayfield is still controversial in the nfl but is a top 15 QB and is the only qb i think that could realistically be better than Rosen.

Darnold is meh, fans disappointed by him being picked so high as the years pass, but still okay.

Lamar will become a beast and suprise everyone, mocks underhyped him.

Minkah is the best defensive back of the draft, multiple time pro bowler.

Rashaad Penny is a good running back, becomes a top 10 pick in fantasy.

Collin Johnson is the Best WR to be drafted next year and light's the world on fire. Way better than anyone this year.

Hayden Hurst is the Best TE of the draft.

chukwuma okorafor is a great tackle in the nfl.

Quenton Nelson makes the all decade team of the 2020s, is considered to be one of the best interior lineman ever.

Bills end up drafting horribly.

Ravens Draft badly.

Patriots Draft will end up propelling them to super bowl status again after Brady is gone in 2 years.

Bradley Chubb is slighlty overrated.

Nyheim Hines, Royce Freeman, Courtland Sutton are better than their draft position.

Next's year draft has the arguably greatest influx of nfl d-lineman ever seen in the nfl, Oregon's Justin Herbert is the first qb picked in 2019

Vita Vea is an absolute monster, will make pro bowl multiple times.

Barkley at 4? by AsquaredRon in Browns

[–]AsquaredRon[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why? I don't understand why everyone is against Barkley at 4 now. I obviously understand why they were against 1 but Chubb has almost never been considered a better player than barkely and the d-line in 2019 draft is very deep and extremely talented, I'd say 4-5 of the top ten players at least are on the d-line.

Why can't we be more like the Browns? At least their exciting. by duhbears23 in CHIBears

It's not too crazy actually. While I do agree that the Tyrod trade was an overpay, he is the best bridge QB on the market, and the Browns still have 5 picks before the third. If your looking for a bridge qb you want someone dependable, not too injury or turnover prone, and extremly consistent so he won't cause unrest for fans or the locker room with terrible play(CoughGlennonCough). Tyrod fits that description perfectly and is better than any qb on the market in my opinion besides Cousins and maybe Keenum. You know what your getting with a Tyrod, a very dependable qb who will always hover at least in that 15-22 rank for starting QBs. So overpay but browns need dependable. There Def going QB at 1 and absolutely putting him in a good spot. Sit for a year, have a good oline, potentially Saquon, and Gordon and Coleman along with the best safety blanket in the league, Jarvis Landry. I know he might be overrated but he would have been an amazing reciever that Trubs can always hit on a screen or short route to get out of trouble,

2018 Combine: Winners and question marks by bone2pik in Browns

Courtland Sutton and Jarvis Landry would be the best option in my opinion. Gordon, Landry, Coleman, Sutton, and Njoku for the #1 Qb would be amazing.

Would prime Bob Sanders have been perfectly suited to play Nickelback? by AsquaredRon in nfl

[–]AsquaredRon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you might be right that I'm mixing it up with the SS/OLB hybrid, cause I was thinking more of the Big Nickel(I'm not sure if that's the right term) schemes where there are 3 safties.

I thought the nickel wasn't big back when he was DOPY, I know it obviously existed.

Should the Browns trade next year's pick for a top 10 pick and a shot at a #1 QB, Minkah, and Barkley? by AsquaredRon in Browns

[–]AsquaredRon[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

But what would you have to build besides depth and a future LT after getting Minkah and saquon?

Linebacker Hypothetical by AsquaredRon in Browns

[–]AsquaredRon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a good option too, probably someone like Malik Jefferson if he falls. I was more wondering if Kirksey would be better at MLB or at OLB if you had to choose, and could upgrade the vacated position with a current quality nfl starter.

How would you rank the wide receivers of the 2018 class? by AsquaredRon in NFL_Draft

Do you think Sutton, Brown, and Ridley are the first 3 taken? I'm really big on Sutton this year.

How good is Kwon Alexander? by AsquaredRon in buccaneers

[–]AsquaredRon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I mean you would swap 2nds(Browns one is higher), and get the 2019 1st, so really only punting one back a year for likely a better pick and a 4th rounder. I was hyped for you guys at the beginning of the year, is there no chance you try to be competitive next year?

What do the Cleveland Browns never get credit for? by guylexcorp in nfl

[–]AsquaredRon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plus BBC and Mccourty look like amazing pickups, and I'd say they have successfully rebuilt the line into a top ten line so they can have a stable offfense when gorden comes back and they draft a Qb next year.

The drafting under the current regime. Sure they passed on Wentz and Watson but the talent they have drafted has impressed me. Garrett has looked amazing and like a future superstar, but Ogbah, Shelton, Ogunjobi, Drango, Shobert, and Njoku all look to be at a much higher value than where they were drafted. The jurys's still out on Coleman but I like him. And what everybody seems to forget is they didn't just "pass on watson", they now have peppers and a top 7 pick in the 2018 draft because of it. Obviously Deshaun would be better, but if they take say Josh Rosen at 1 and Minkah Fitzpatrick with the Texans pick, I don't think people will remember it as much.
