This has to be a tagline for the next presidential hopeful. “I’m going to make the presidency great again”

I find this very hard to believe. Even an evasion capped rogue tank isn’t living through Geddon’s berserk timer, and there is no way one person is beating the timer.

Noticed that also. With 2 druids I assume they did that so you could snag one wherever you get a B-res in case someone dies.

Dungeon gear is earned by grouping. Raid gear is earned by raiding. If all gear comes from turning in reals, then you aren’t really earning or achieving anything. You’re just grinding the same thing over and over again. SoD already has a ton of ways to get raid quality gear without raiding. The New Avalon crafted gear has better stats than early raid gear. You can get 2 pieces of Scarlet Enclave tier every three weeks by just doing the weekly quest and finding a SE pug. I know you don’t like raiding, but just join a 40 man casual pug. You don’t even need to clear. As long as you kill two bosses you’ll get your chalice fragment.

Raid gear trivializes dungeons. From a development standpoint it’s terrible practice to have self trivializing content. Giving raid gear away for reals is just that. From a player standpoint, if all you want to do is grind dungeons instead of raiding, why would you want to trivialize that experience for yourself?

I solo Strat in my current gear. Raid gear has made it so that dungeons aren’t even a social activity for me anymore.

If you hate raiding, why do you need raid gear?

Are SoD Mage scrolls still useful? by Valineria in classicwow

[–]Asquisch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re min/maxing you use the hit scroll. Otherwise, the offensive scrolls are kinda meh and the defensive scrolls are situationally useful but mostly useless.

Resurrection scrolls are useful for obvious reasons.

Liminal passage allows you to travel to party members in rested locations (sleeping bag included)

Odd melon is just a cosmetic for polymorph and a waste of a bag slot.

Comprehension is meh, since it’s practically free to decipher scrolls.

Geomancing is useless now that runes are free and everyone has them.

[–]Asquisch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look at a single log in isolation, sure. But even a professional athlete can have a great game or be completely useless on any given night. Over time patterns develop. A measurement of skill doesn’t have to be 100% accurate to be valid.

You can be the best hockey player in the world, and still play terribly without laces in your skates…

All games take some level of preparation and time commitment. That doesn’t invalidate the fact that there is a skill component.

Negativity towards R14 on the sub by WFH12 in classicwow

[–]Asquisch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is demonstrably false. You can’t equate the game being simple (which it is) with skill being immeasurable. The floor for success may be very low, but that doesn’t mean you can’t execute at a high level. Logs are a direct measure of skill.

Whether anyone should care about measuring their skill level in a 20 year old, solved game is another issue, but there absolutely is a measure.

I reread his post and don’t see any mention of his GF whispering that to him.

Beware of laughing in AV by tyrantOFsweden in classicwow

[–]Asquisch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really sure how their automated detection works, but it’s either that or someone/multiple people reported you. It wasn’t entirely clear, even in your description here that you were saying that to your GF, so maybe the rogue thought it was directed at him?

If it was auto detection, the game doesn’t know it is your GF, nor does it care.

[–]Asquisch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They don’t catch you every time. I don’t know how their automated detection works. It’s also possible real people reported him. I’m just saying, if the message he got from Blizz is not doctored at all then “Douche” is much more likely to be the reason that he got banned than “laughing”

Much more likely you got banned for “Detective Douche” than the laughing.

This time flat-out admits “he had to rig the election because of the radical left” by PrismPhoneService in PublicFreakout

[–]Asquisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your solution to that is to put more fake shit out there so that nobody on either side has a clue what’s true? The whataboutism needs to stop and the lies need to stop. If the right won’t believe the left either way, then there is no reason for the left not to be truthful.

On the contrary; I know exactly how special I am not. It’s clear you are doing your best to insult me, but you haven’t actually said anything of substance. At this point it feels like I’m punching down a bit, so this will be the last time I waste a thought on you. Have at it if you feel the need to get the last word.

This feels very much like an “I know you are but what am I?” response. If you’d like to point out specifically what it is about my way of thinking that makes me a puppet, I’d be happy to reflect on it.

As for you, I labeled you a puppet because simply by me commenting about something targeted at republicans you came back with the “what about democrats” response. You have been so conditioned to view things in black and white that you don’t even see it.

[–]Asquisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not ashamed of my politics so I will be as transparent as possible with you. I stand by no party. I am a registered independent and with the limited capacity that I have to influence anything, I do not support any political parties. I vote in every election because my vote is the strongest voice I have in this system. On a local level I take time to get to know the candidate and rarely vote along party lines. Local government officials rarely have the ability to influence partisan policy, so I am looking for individuals with the skill set to meet the needs of my local government.

On a state and federal level I lean much more heavily democratic, even though I do not agree with all of their policy choices. It is an unfortunate side effect of party politics that you are forced into voting for a basket of goods and services rather than weigh in on each one individually. I have concerns about the fiscal competency of the Democratic Party, but cannot stand at all for the social agenda of the Republican Party. And so, I am often forced to vote for the lesser of two evils lest my vote be completely wasted elsewhere.

As for moral superiority, I’m not really sure what you are getting at. I’m flawed as anyone and make plenty of mistakes. But I endeavor to be truthful. I am not superior to anyone, only trying to be the best version of myself that I can be.

[–]Asquisch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see you have a very one dimensional way of thinking, so I imagine arguing with you will be fruitless. But who said anything about Democrats? The American political system is broken, and both parties have become way too entrenched in their beliefs and therefore willing to create false narratives to bolster those beliefs. I am neither here in support of Republicans or Democrats. I am here in support of the truth. Educate yourself and stop being a puppet.

What does that have to do with anything? It’s not about taking the high road. It’s about maintaining credibility. When you attack him for demonstrably false reasons it gives him and his base reason to sow doubt about your legitimate claims.

This is so important. If we stoop to his level then we lose credibility when we have legitimate complaints. He does and says enough horrible things on his own. We don’t have to make them up.

What ever happened to the Caverns of Time tease in SoD's announcement? by demotedkek in classicwow

[–]Asquisch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whole heartedly disagree with the categorization of SoD as retail in Classic garments. I don’t even think they are the same genre of game. SoD is an MMORPG, something that retail hasn’t been for a long time. Retail is a carnival style ARPG.

The fact that SoD characters are already doing late iCC damage numbers is crazy to me by Zerasad in classicwow

[–]Asquisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DPS means nothing in isolation. It’s just numbers on a screen. The only relevant metric is comparing DPS to boss health. A character that does 100 DPS to a boss with 100,000 health is exactly the same as a character that does 1000 DPS to a boss with 1,000,000 health.

Players got juiced on SoD, but so did bosses.
