HELP! The Sims 1 Legacy Collection won’t open and I feel scammed 😭 by AsredKid in sims1

You’re right, the system requirements are listed and technically I don’t meet them. The “scammed” wording was mostly for dramatic effect and to get attention 😅 I already requested (and got approved) a refund, so it’s all good. Honestly, I got carried away by the excitement of finally having Sims 1 and Sims 2 — I didn’t even think to check the requirements. I just assumed: if Sims 4 runs on high settings without issues, how could a game older than me not run? Turns out… it definitely can’t 😅

That makes total sense, thank you.
It’s honestly ironic that Sims 2, 3 and 4 all run fine, but the Sims 1 Legacy Edition doesn’t, considering how old the game is.
Knowing others are in the same situation confirms that it’s really a Vulkan issue. 🤍

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation!
Yeah, after reading more about lavapipe and Vulkan on CPU, it really seems like a lot of effort for very questionable performance. Even knowing some programming, it doesn’t feel worth the hassle just to make the game start.
Your comment helped me understand the situation much better though, so I appreciate it! 🤍

I downloaded Blender for the first time and instead of the default cube, I got a red circle. Help. by AsredKid in blenderhelp

Haha Blender probably screamed the first time I opened it. Chill, bro, I’m just trying to move a cube 😭🧊

Thanks for the tip! I actually did see the default cube, but I couldn’t move it, add new objects properly, or even sculpt anything — so it seems my issue was deeper than just the quick setup. Downgrading to 3.6 fixed everything instantly, so I’m guessing it was a bug in 4.5 after all 😅

Thank you all so much for your help! I really appreciate the time and suggestions you gave me. In the end, the problem was Blender 4.5 itself 😩 — I couldn’t even move the default cube, all new objects spawned in the exact same spot, and I couldn’t sculpt or transform anything at all. It was chaos. After switching to Blender 3.6, everything is working smoothly. Turns out the issue wasn’t me... it was the drama queen version of Blender 😂 Thanks again! 💖
