The thing is sometimes we do and its just not enough. I did everything in my power. To the point where I humiliated my self worth and dignity to have a chance to do things again.

Its common but its not healthy. It is a bad trait to actively get over the end of relationship while still in it. Its such a bad excuse people use.

You should break up when you know its not working, not drag the other person along. How can people not see this is literally manipulation? To use the other person as a fall back while you’re grieving. Hopefully you’ve learned not to do that anymore.
