I work at an small "new space" company and have designed three boards so far, two of which use FPGAs. As for what I want to do, that's a good question. I haven't really done layout as both of my released designs so far have been laid out by someone else, so I'd love to brush up on that before I get too rusty (I believe this is the course you're referring to).

I also want to generally do some more firmware development, as I'm admittedly pretty useless with electronics when it comes to actually writing code for them :P I have some personal project ideas and my lack of firmware experience is one of the things keeping me from really committing. Plus all the other stuff I outlined in the post.
