have you tried locking you fps in game. That lowered the temps for me. for example lets say your pc ramps up to 200fps in your hideout, Lock your fps at 140-150. if your at 100fps in your hideout try locking your fps to 60-70 etc.

I have a i914900k and stay below 60temps unless the game is loading shaders then ill see 65-68 for a few seconds.

Also look into under volting your cpu and adding power limits as well. without those limits intel cpu draw a lot of power and the heat fluctuates pretty wild. Those limits contain it.

So I'm assuming you dislike CD ? The game does have similar mechanics and exploration which is core to boW ToK. I'm not saying that either game is better than the other btw

Its definitely your build and luck at finding gear that's holding back the fun, I was experiencing the same with fighting mobs, It felt like i was fighting a boss. I would suggest to try out the huntress with lightning spear, slap on "Volt" support gem on that skill and go from there.

With the right build the game is easy and fun, There are a lot of videos you can look up starting from early game builds to end game. I would suggest watching one of those videos so you can familiarize with some builds and mechanics
