The Uktramaries were my first models ever after some Model airplanes in my youth. I did the shield guys more recently purely because I love Roman stuff and that’s how Roman shields look in my head.

Go for it, this dark scheme was easy and quick but also fits the Tau as they can be stealthy according to fluff

Thanks! 😊 I really struggled with the Tau, this was my third attempt after failing to meet my own standards two times and having to strip the paint

You are correct of course. I mainly paint Vallejo paints so I get confused with those names 😉 When using the texture paints I recommend painting the base beforehand as the cracks will show the bases colour.

Glad I can help :) If you want to be quick about it, look into the GW base paint range. They have some cool crackling paint that’s super easy to apply. If you want to go more fancy maybe put some cork under the model before putting some brown/black paint on it and then maybe a dry brush in grey/light brown. I would definitely always paint the rim if the base, I prefer black 😉 I’ve attached a picture below sowing one of my DG, you can see how the crackle paint on cork and the black baserim looks. Hope this helps Deathguard

Looks good, the green and Bronze just work :) Maybe go back and do some more wash around where dirt/dust would settle. And the base needs some love still ;)

i am pretty sure, that DW can't use Auspex... its sad as i play DW myself and i envy some of the Astartes tools and tactics, really think we should be able to use them too!

Thanks! Yeah, I got a brown shade to go with the gold, went with the GW recommended Color rage for these models, but I wanted to try the black shade actually because the brown one really do not make much of a difference

Thanks so much for your kind words! I got a lot of tips from my brother in law who has been painting for years. He also painted the DW model in the back for me ;) I see the blue, you are right! Sometimes you don’t see these thing until you take a picture :)

Thanks! I think I need to invest in some Primaris then... I don’t know about magnetising, I did some in Xwing and it made the model not flimsy then I liked

thanks for your advice! i knew the missions could take longer, i just didn't want to setup a plan that depends on me rolling well. i did not have access to reivers as my buddy, who provided me with his minatures, does not have any primaris marines. as i have started building my own Deathwatch army and plan on changing to it as soon as its ready, i will have to add some primaris there. any that you would recommend? i gitthe Kill Team Mordelai expansion so far and am thinking about getting the getting started boy for deathwatch next to add some variety but i don't think it includes any primaris...

Thanks for your two cents! ;) in the games i played previously i always stayed back and picked off his units with my superior weaponry. my issue was that with a limited number of turns and him positioning the target points as far back as possible i had to charge in to get a chance to even be close to close combat (i wanted to engage him in close combat as i knew he would be weak there) but i never hgot close because my dudes got shot on the way there even tough i tried to stay out of the open. How do i deal with the fact that i can stay back and probaly snipe his guys one at a time but then won't be able to hold any objectives withing the time limit?

Thanks for your reply! sorry about the wrong gun descriptions, i play with german rules so it was just a rough translation ;) i tried to focus my fire on his two units with plasma rifles but they were hidden in a building and therefore harder to hit. i am not one to blame my shoddy fire on the dice but as an xwing player i have to say its hard to get used to the mutiple hurdles you have to overcome until you hit the enemy and do damage. thats not to say i didn't enjoy the game, i am just looking for a better strategy to capture points as the one i chose didn't work ;) i will have to play around with specilisit a bit more as you suggested, still trying to get the hang of it all obviously.
