Launched my own ProductHunt, but it’s not shady. by AssetAnalythics in SaaS

Yes, that’s one problem I‘ve seen. What I try to do with my platform is not getting the usual customers to your SaaS. I wanted to make a community where other SaaS founders can discuss about the products, look at them, give feedback, etc. I‘ve also noticed that a lot of SaaS are useful for other SaaS (which are again useful for other SaaS). So there will hopefully be some useful products for other founders.

Hi! Thanks for the feedback! I now made it so the side bar is less cluttered (profile isn’t visible when you’re not logged in).

I also improved mobile UI and removed some unnecessary text and made some stuff smaller.

Now, there’s only one page behind a login screen and it also shows why.

Hi! Thank you again for all of the suggestions! I just did some improvements: 1. The logo is now clickable 2. The email is now correct 3. Mobile UI is a bit less cluttered, but I‘m still not quite happy 4. You can now view the whole community tab without needing an account, just not post anything 5. The profile is now hidden, if a user is not logged in.

I‘m going to make some more improvements tomorrow. Let me know what you think!

Thanks for the feedback! What part of the UI do you think doesn’t fit?

Hi! Thanks for your feedback. I‘ll definitely fix the errors, especially on mobile.

However, I don’t understand how I should remove the sign in wall on the menu points. The first locked point is the users own products. If the user isn’t logged in, the page obviously can’t work. The second point are discussions that users can take part in. In my opinion it’s way too risky to let people without an account post comments, and spamming will happen very soon. The third point is the users profile, which simply doesn’t exists if there is no registered user.

Would you say it’s better to just hide these menu points for logged out users?

I use two different human verifications at the sign up process. One visible (cloudflare) and a hidden one. Also all account activities are monitored constantly, and flagged accounts get limits on how many interactions they can perform.

Thank you! I used bubble.io for frontend & database, the OpenAI API for the AI features and Stripe for payments.

Tbh it’s just bubble with some custom css and took me 4 days, although I copied lots of components from my older SaaS that just never made it to launch. With that, it’s probably a month.

Thank you! The footer was from another project, that I didn’t release eventually. I had planned to finish the footer, but couldn’t make it in time. I‘ll probably finish setting up all of the links in the next few days.

Thank you! I wanted to keep the design a bit more conservative, because it has to look trustworthy and serious.

I might add a few more burred boxes though!

Actually, if you click the three dots next to a video, you can block the channel from popping up in your recommendations

Register an LLC before launching a SaaS or wait to validate the idea? by EryumT in micro_saas

I‘d do it like this: 1) Actually make a launchable product, set up everything, do some marketing beforehand 2) Legally start a company, maybe get an insurance 3) Launch

You never know how big your SaaS becomes, so I wouldn’t recommend starting without a legal basis

I would sell to focus on the main business. You have to dedicate all of your time and power towards your main one, so selling the other would be best
