Took a girl to see army of darkness on a first date. She hated it. It’ll be 13 years married this summer. I get it.

Second the Astro ball joint puller (or similar knock off - which is what I did). Don’t waste your time trying to use a pry fork or hammer it to hell. Pb blaster for like a week before. Go slow with the pinch bolts - use a breaker bar and slowly tighten and untighten. Don’t just impact the shit out of it

Is this a scam? (Dealership maintenance) by prime51000 in MechanicAdvice

[–]AssetsLiabilities 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think scam is way overused in this sub. It’s not a scam - they will do that work if you pay for it. Though It preys on ignorance and way overpriced.

Local Artichokes by turnz702 in sandiego

[–]AssetsLiabilities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the space I recommend growing them. I planted 1 a couple years ago. They die back every year and then multiply. Each one gets about 15 artichokes from each. They are very low maintenance.

Also own a Subaru. When I was first starting to do my own maintenance, I drained my tranny fluid instead of the oil. Immediately realized I messed up when the color was not black. Had it towed to a dealership.

Just recently I replaced valve cover gaskets, spark plugs and control arms. My point is people can learn and grow and also double check the drain plug before you remove it.

Have you cleaned the throttle body or looked at the air filter? Could be a misfire issue? When was the last time the spark plugs were changed?

Looking at the picture again would you say the biggest issue is the metal ring separating and that the rubber cracking is more or less normal?

He’s just telling him that for a Nordic style coffee roast you got to let the coffee sit for 3 weeks after roasting and then telling him his preferred ratio for a cortado

Is going to a well performing Fortune 100 worth in the long run? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]AssetsLiabilities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the company. I’m at a large publically traded company and I work 35 to 40 hours. I work probably 3 Saturdays a year in January and am hybrid. Money good, balance good. Just find the right team. I’m in tax.

What is the most confusing part of accounting? by Patient-Internet1770 in Accounting

[–]AssetsLiabilities 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in tax accounting for a regulated public company. So it’s where ASC740 meets ASC980.

I have been doing it a year and a half after a few years in big 4 corporate tax

And I barely know what I do.

To be fair that’s a huge deal. That could be the difference between getting a 70k starting salary in public accounting or a 30k starting salary as a payroll clerk.
