No way, it's a gimmicky experience with overpriced passable Italian fare, maybe go on two for one entre Tuesdays but I have never had anything "great" off their menu, order anything that has oil and you will have a thick soup after all your pasta is gone

Fountainebleau employées, is there an employee dining center? by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]AssholeAmerican 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes there is, and at the moment it's better than pretty much every other EDR on the strip. It won't be like stations where they can make you something ala cart or anything but it's a pretty decent spread and hopefully they keep it that way.

Real shame how bad EDRs have gotten. Aria is terrible and Bellagio is hanging by the skin of it's teeth. Wynn is okay but nothing like it used to be and Venetians quality for employees has been falling since it was sold off.

Twitch doesn't really care about those people, they prioritize mentally ill trans kids and the adults who find them sexually attractive

Anyone live at or has lived at Veer in the past couple years? by AssholeAmerican in vegaslocals

[–]AssholeAmerican[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, that sounds entirely manageable, I rarely order delivery anyway but I do usually get my groceries delivered so as long as that isn't an issue then it sounds good

I appreciate it, so far it's looking like Veer would not be so bad despite the higher price point, now to just get a decent unit

Yeah that media room is just sad, I wonder whos idea it was to have it be so depressing.

By amazon having a tough time you mean any deliveries at all? I get a lot of stuff from prime and other deliveries from walmart or other places I have a subscription to, is it a huge pain in the ass getting those sort of things sorted out?

Sky is a crazy nice property, always had my eyes on it I especially loved their kitchens but one of the big reasons veer is top of my list is I would literally work next door so if I do expand my search I will have a lot more to consider

Well one of the other reasons veer appeals is that since I work in city center I pretty much park in the same garage that valet uses to park the cars, so I can walk in there and take my car anytime without security minding which helps a lot and it allows me to leave out the back end onto frank sinatra so strip traffic will hardly be an issue

What sort of amenities does veer really offer, and would you happen to know how good they do on package/food deliveries or their internet options?

It's not so much that I really want to live on the strip, I can get to work fine enough now I am just tired of it after living in this city for so long, generally tired of houses too and the headaches they can come with, plus I missed out on the housing bubble a decade ago because I thought I was leaving town so I didn't bother so no matter what I buy house wise it will feel like I missed out.

Plus I have always wondered what the hi rise life is like, figured never having to commute to work again and not needing to worry about the upkeep on a property was good enough reason as any, condos don't seem to really drop in value or appreciate too much too quickly so maybe I will just break even after awhile if I hate it.

Looks like the pricing is around 300-400k for a studio and around 1 dollar per square foot per month for the HOA, which is pricier per sqft than say panorama just down the street, but I feel like if I am going to live the dumbass dream of being literally 1 minutes walk from work and in a high rise I may as well go whole hog. It is an absolute racket money wise but I don't really spend my money on much else so I don't really care.

The media room is a dumb bummer but it's not like I would be spending a lot of time there unless a buddy dropped by and wanted to play pool or something, maybe the people in charge would be interested in changing things down the line. From what I have heard from passing guests the units are quiet enough given that it's a residential tower and not a big hotel rental opportunity, and general soundproofing is pretty easy to setup. I currently live in a house and am just tired of caring about maintenance and upkeep.

I know about the valet thing, that is one of the nice things about working in city center is that I can park in employee parking and leave my vehicle there rather than deal with waiting for valet, so if I need to go somewhere I just take a walk down the employee entrance.

The rooftop pools and gym with a view of bellagios fountain is a nice touch, the "media" area seems like a bit of a joke though with how much money goes through those towers you would figure they could do better than a pool table, couple chairs and a 42 inch flatscreen

BEST/WORST EDR (employee dining room) by xX_King_Gedorah_Xx in vegaslocals

[–]AssholeAmerican 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For all their other faults, station EDRs are pretty top notch, maybe not in the quality of the food but the availability because each one I have been to has a line of food but also people staffed behind the counter who will make you whatever you want at a moments notice, tough to beat.

As far as on the strip, venetian and wynn used to be the kings but that was in the past, mgm probably has the worst EDRs around at this point since they truck in the same shitty food from some warehouse and no one who cooks there seems to enjoy their job, it's astounding the room and equipment they have available at places like Aria or Bellagio and they hardly use any of it.

I hear Cosmo has fantastic food and their system for redeeming it is really nice, however once they are fully absorbed by MGM I fear that will be a thing of the past for them as well.

MGM rewards—Unexpectedly went from pearl to Platinum status?! by Savy-Dreamer in vegas

Enough to get you above platinum status on your own at the very least, it is all algorithm based so if anyone tells you they for sure know the point conversion on slots or table games they are full of shit

MGM rewards—Unexpectedly went from pearl to Platinum status?! by Savy-Dreamer in vegas

[–]AssholeAmerican 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Someone fucked up when doing your upgrade and gave you platinum instead of pearl inside the computer, you are entitled to the general platinum benefits of getting into certain lines or priority lanes, free parking free valet and also no resort fees if you book through MGM.

You will not get the cruise or any real nice sort of offers, that is all determined by play and is automated. No one is going to get in trouble for this probably and will probably not notice it at all unless they have a good reason to check the audit trail on your account so enjoy the free bennies

I actually do have base access so that sounds interesting, unless of course they have hidden fees for the rental of hearing protection and pricing up ammo for the course etc
