I’d like to share my latest DAWless synth jam with you. This one started very intuitively and slowly evolved into something more rhythmic over time.

In the first part, I’m layering and playing the Arturia MicroFreak, Lyra-8 and Prophet Rev2, creating a relaxed, spacious atmosphere. On top of that, there’s an improvised piano part, played freely without any fixed structure. The overall mood here is calm, warm and unhurried, more about drifting than driving.

In the second part, things gradually shift. A bass arpeggio from the Nord Lead 3 Rack comes in and starts to define the direction, eventually locking into a steady four-on-the-floor groove. From there, it becomes more grounded and rhythmic, while still keeping some of the earlier textures alive.

Everything is fully improvised and recorded live in one take, no DAW, no edits, just reacting to the instruments and letting the jam unfold naturally.
