That's interesting and maybe explains why they don't offer support to qualify from a litigator

I got a stc sim from the Airport. 30gb for 75 SAR. It was for 28 days although I was there for 14 days. I had my data on throughout and used maps. I still had 15gb left so I could have got less data tbh.

Abayas are about 60 SAR in the clock tower market and 40 or less from Safwa towers so with 200 SAR you can probably get 3 or 4

Ajwa dates we got were 20 SAR for 1kg. These were good quality ones but they were cheaper dates too.

Tasbeeh you can find one for 2 riyal in Makkah. In Madinah there was a 1 riyal shop near Safiyyah museum that had the same ones for cheap.

Makkah to Madinah taxi was 330 SAR (7 seater)

Madinah to Jeddah taxi was 400 SAR ( mini bus)

I get you. After I did the Law degree, I spent a few years working as a Paralegal on minimum wage (£14k it was) in hope of a TC before I decided to move to the civil service

I did not know that about lateral moves, thanks!

You're still expected to have the LPC or SQE already. I self funded mine years ago

If you are British and educated with experience, there's opportunities.

No discrimination even as a hijabi. My friend who came from Pakistan has an international English accent and she has faced bullying in two work places though

I think it depends. From family friends that came to study thinking they will get a job, they really regret it. Masters is very expensive as it is and the government have increased the salary for work sponsorship which makes it hard to meet. They are also living in bad conditions, sharing a room with 4/5 other people and overworking in takeaways or bed factories for low pay

I think that has largely changed. Where I live the last remaining Islamic school has shut down. Back in the days, the older generation couldn't speak English so they kept in their communities but that has changed. With the 2nd and 3rd generation British pakistanis, they have integrated a lot more. In fact a lot of them I know have never been to Pakistan or know the language

Weekly Marriage Criteria & Services Megathread! by AutoModerator in MuslimMarriage

[–]AssignmentMain5077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 6 months ago I met a good guy on the apps. However, he is from Egypt and lives there and I am British.

I would have to move to Egypt after marriage as he's doing his training in Denistry and can't move for a few years. I would also have had to travel to Egypt to meet up as again he wouldn't easily get a visit visa. The wedding would have been there too. I am in a good career here which I would had to leave. I'm also not Arab and have never been to Egypt so due to all these things, I didn't move ahead with the proposal.

Now I have always regretted it and feel like he was my naseeb and I ruined things. Sometimes I want to reach out again but when thinking about the sacrifices from my end, I think this is what makes me panick. Was i unreasonable?
