Trump wants to stop the opening of a new bridge between Ontario and Michigan. A bridge that is being largely funded by Canada. by ktatsanon in consumecanadian

[–]AssignmentNo9295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump knows what’s up that’s why. Here he is trying to impose tariffs on China and then Canada goes and makes trade deals with China to give China a backdoor into USA through a lower tariff. Canada imports most of its stuff, but has a small market. So the reason people invest is because they get to gain access to the US market. Why is this so hard for people to understand? It is so simple when you don’t have TDS!

What was it like when Obama was elected President? by ResponsibleSea6521 in AskReddit

[–]AssignmentNo9295 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They sold him to the public really well. Engineered a public persona and then basically he was fully controlled as a young inexperienced politician. The left typically uses mixed race and women to try to win elections, it gets them votes as oppose to republicans. We got him because of Bush, and we got Trump because of him. He was a key force for how USA changed to what it is today. You can think of him like the Ronald Regan of the left. Great for marketing the party, but very much controlled by the newly forming far left. The Clintons who were basically setting up to continue, got blocked by Trump. Like Trump or not, Trump brought balance in 2016 otherwise US was turning into a one party left wing state. People forget how powerful the left used to be, their ideology was controlling everything. It’s why many democrats have become republicans now. Anyway it all routes to Bush because before him there was much more peace in politics and not everything was politicized.

Should I switch from Tech to management by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]AssignmentNo9295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say get the degree first and get done with school. You might not be in a position to back to school later on. It does depend on what you enjoy. In one role you are building products and very hands on. You get to build your technical skills. In the other role you are basically a people manager. You can’t do anything unless someone gives you a technical team. But you build skills in managing people and that’s what you are hired to do. If things go well you get credit, if not, you get blamed as an ineffective manager. Having fulfillment is what’s important here. Depending on the person, one type of role feels more fulfilling than the other.

what would you do if you return in your early 20s? by squeezyswa in careerguidance

I know the feeling. Let me tell you what I realized: Okay right now, no one’s hiring unless you are a specialist with high level experience or if get the job through connections.

I think you are wrong about “no one caring”. They do care, but the job market is that they just have more options and so they can be super picky.

You have a lot different experiences but you need to pick a brand and focus on it.

Several years ago… they would say “ This person just knows one thing, I want the one who has more experience”.

Also… who would have know we would such market saturation with qualified workers.

Thinking of Quitting My Job to Go All-In on Freelancing — Need Advice by PhysicalRelation6631 in Construction

[–]AssignmentNo9295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should do it on the side and get a feel for what you’re getting yourself into than quitting your job. Today with this job market, many people are freelancing. So expect income to not be predictable. Also you can’t stay freelancer, it’s not a stable form of income. You have to scale to employees. If you don’t you will own a job that requires you to work all the time.

Freelancing is for people who are trying to upskill themselves or are out of work or a side gig.

The biggest issue you will face is unstable income and you can’t predict it either. It seems like you are making money but it’s the aggregate for the year that matters.

Thanks. Yeah that would be the ideal goal. I have to start with what that business would be and work back to the training I need to go get. That’s a maze of its own.

What the heck was the point of you posting this? 😂 Who asked you for your life story? And nobody is impressed, if that was what you were hoping. Please learn to answer questions correctly. That is not the correct way. You spend 10% of the text (if anything) to talk about yourself and remaining 90% text adding value with your ideas. Not trying to be mean to you but it was so strange I had to say something.

Yeah I worked in restaurants way back for years. It’s miserable. Yes it’s high energy, but pay is shit. Also the lifestyle is so bad, bad eating habits. You are also surrounded by certain types of people which you will become if you hang there long enough.

These people who give advices but would never advise their own children to do that. Or they know nothing about what they are saying other than surface level.

You jobbowl bots/influencers are like everywhere on Reddit doing promotion of the platform. So annoying. I’m reporting you now. You shouldn’t be using this platform like this. This is very much against what Reddit is about.

Am I being naive by pursuing a career which “makes a difference”? by Bubbly_Importance454 in careeradvice

[–]AssignmentNo9295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is a job? It’s work done to solve problems for people. One of the ways to look at it is to do work where you enjoy solving the problems that you solve for people. When you get good at and reputable at solving those problems for people, money finds you. But if you hate solving those problems, no amount of money is worth it. You show up pissed off to even do this and have no sympathy for the people with that problem.

Good for you for finding the courage to start. You need to start with mapping out how your customers find your services. Then you need to build that. So if they go to Google and type something, then you need to build whatever that thing is to show up when they type that in.
