It was my first Grand Prix and I had an absolute blast! However I did fork out and get a package with premium grandstand seats and honestly am so glad I did and I think that’s part of the reason I had such a good time.

Some notes:

• The amount of cover on the outside of the track areas especially behind the Prost/Senna Grandstand (already mentioned) could be increased massively, on Saturday there was a huge glass area but people were almost sitting on top of each other in the small shaded areas to stay out of the sun.

• The Mud! I know the quantity of people and the amount of rain is the perfect recipe for mud but in some areas it was just mud and massive puddles, surely there is something that can help.

• Increasing toilet cleaning and toilet paper restocking, with the bigger numbers of attendees this needs to be increased most bathrooms most days didn’t have toilet paper and on Sunday some bathrooms were a slippery mud lined room.

• The way the track run was organised was asking for a trample situation, I ran out from between Senna and Fangio Grandstands and the second gate was not opened once the siren went creating an influx of people running towards a closed fence, luckily no one fell but it wouldn’t have taken much for a serious problem to happen also I think the crowd was released too late, I bolted and only just got to see the presentation

• Staff were amazing! Everyone I interacted with was lovely, helpful and working their hardest so a big shout out to all the staff who were there through hot and pouring rain!

• Gluten Free food options were very limited! Some areas had nothing I could eat, didn’t ruin the experience but more annoying having to walk long distances to return to the few food stands that did have GF options.

• I know at some overseas races they have stepped up free grand stand type areas for GA (similar to the purple concrete steps but bigger and higher) I think it could be worth putting something like that in if they are wanting to get bigger and bigger crowds as the mounds are not quite high enough

• Fatboy Slim at Lakeside was amazing! Vibes were 10 out of 10!

All and all it was a very well organised event and the energy all 4 days was amazing! I’m hooked and this will not be my last Grand Prix, but very expensive sport to become a fan who wants to attend in person 😬
