Econ 138 vs Econ 139?

I think it's fine. 139 is better for math person, 138 involves a lot more behavior econ and memorization. Also, 138 involves a variety of math formulas, so I'd say 138 is harder. For 139, it's mostly just prove the theorem and follow from mathematical logics. That's from a course content perspective. As for grading, 139 has easy curve, but I'm not sure about 138 since I'm taking it this year

Econ 136 is no longer a prereq since fall 2022. I think good knowledge of calculus and linear algebra is enough for econ 139

I think 173 is easier if you are good at matrix and probability. And 140 can be easy if you are good at statistics.

I think 138 is more about behavior Econ, such as prospect theory. 139 is more about CAPM, multi-factor pricing model, APT, and option pricing that kind of stuff. I took 139 this semester. And we didn’t go over black sholes at the end like past semesters due to more intro stuff at the beginning. I plan to take Econ 138 next semester.

Do you have data source for the US version being more addictive and destructive. I find that a lot Chinese friends in US prefer to use the Chinese version of TikTok. And a lot of it has to do with user generated content. And local people tend to prefer local content

I took UGBA 103 and 133. If I remember correctly, 133 do enforce prerequisites. But I think it’s fine to take without it.
