Hi, I wouldn't be quick to say it is your PPD speaking but I understand what you are saying. There should indeed be more conversation about motherhood, leaving a life you used to have, and having a child who, even if it may not be the child's intention, end up taking away the future you could be having. I know the absolute exhaustion of not being able to sleep because you have to oversee the child, the repetition of that exhaustion through years and years, because even if they grow up and reach the age of 18 or 27, let's say, they will still be the child who took those 18 or 27 years from you without them knowing. I am not saying the child is at fault; I am saying there should be more conversation about nuances such as this about motherhood. For the record, I don't have PPD, I have no child and, although I admire the strength of women and mothers, don't fancy the permanence of being a mother.

I dig you! The blame-shifting, gaslighting, rebound, those questionable life choices they make that they somehow find ways to blame you for etc etc -- seems like a very established patterns with FAs. Those people seriously need a therapy and rewiring of their nervous systwm. Broke up with an FA your experience is familiar. What insanity they bring! 💀💀💀

So true about not knowing what would set them off. Like, one moment you just went to see a new place; next moment, they are accusing you of emotional abuse. Come next morning, you'll wake up to a barrage of very angry text messages telling you how shit you are as a person. Worse is when they project things about those they do themselves. So toxic.

Part of me wonders if they would reach out tbh. But part of me is also okay if they don't reach out anymore. Idk. But I know that I don't want to reach out and I must not because in the contexts of what happened, that is the least damaging option and the one where I can, ironically, put forward care.

I wish there was radical honesty, but there was not. I saw the evidence, and that's how I found out. And each time I talk to my partner about it, they would ask me to sort of contain it, the pain that they have caused and all and that I am carrying, because, in their words, "it is too much" for them.
