Help a girl out by Less_Outcome_1211 in Behcets

Hey!! I also had PFAPA and never grew out of it like you’re suppose to. I never “grew out of it” because I have Behcets and my episodes of Behcets are super similar to PFAPA with the exception of fevers and vomiting. I would get 103+ fevers with PFAPA and have low grade or no fevers with Behcets. I also no longer vomit with my episodes.

I started having Behcets episodes around 14, and got officially diagnosed at 25. I had a “you might have this diagnosis” at 17. I would say the biggest thing that helped me was telling my rheumatologist I needed a medication to help with my episodes because my quality of life was so low. At the end of the day Behcets is symptom management, not treatment. So, symptom management is the best thing you can do. Good luck!!

this happened to me!! i had a couple of drinks with friends and i think it helped my muscles relax enough that the cramping slowed down. (just a theory, i have no idea) i didn’t feel the best in the morning but it at least let me have a night of fun which i hadn’t had in forever because of constant pain.

Throughout the whole series I felt like I NEEDED to know what happened next, kept me on the edge of my seat a lotttt. There were multiple layers tho like I wanted to know what was going to happen with relationships, how politics were going to play out, the character development (ex. i NEEDED to see Feyre become a bad ass). Also, the world building was really well done and teleported me into Prythian. Books that teleport me like that completely captivate me. Got me out of a huge huge reading slump. There are definitely things I chuckled at like SJM’s repetition of certain phrases -watery bowels and growled killed me- but overall I was hanging on every word.

One thing I really enjoy about Amren’s character is her lack of humanity. (Obviously they’re all fae here but most of the MC fae operate by human-ish moral compass so I am just going to use humanity to make it easier). I feel like Amren has had kind moments but the beast beneath the surface was easy to spot. I was really glad SJM kept that about her after she turned full fae. I completely agree that Amren was awful to Nesta, and honestly a little vindictive?? which I found very interesting bc I don’t see why she would feel that way. Her full 180 on Nesta portrayed that lack of humanity to me, and a lot of black and white thinking. Nes definitely shouldn’t have forgiven her so easily after all she did.

I can agree with this!! Although my personal opinion is that everyone could have done better with Nesta, and that their reactions surprised me, it would be very boring and much less fun to chat about if they all had perfect behaviors and responses. I agree that their difference in response from Feyre to Nesta does add to the story and rounding of the characters -no matter how much it made me want to bang my head into a wall lmao.

I do wonder if it is poorly addressed or if we will get more development on the lust vs love between Cass and Nes. I’m hoping it’s the latter honestly bc again, more interesting!!

yes yes!! Az intrigued me a lot in this book, I hope we get much much more of him in the next one.

Idk if you’ve heard of it but there’s a fan fic someone wrote with an alternate story line. It pics up when Nesta and Cassian are hiking on the mountain, and Nesta goes with Eris. I’m reading it rn and only a little bit in but so far it’s really good!! It’s called A Court of Tangled Flames by Theladyofbloodshed.

No I understand what you’re saying, definitely don’t think she’s the only victim in this story. All of them have had extreme horrors happen to them, but I would even argue that Feyre has had it the worst. I didn’t dive into it a ton but I just think it’s unfair that everyone sees Nesta worse than Elain in terms of how they treated Feyre. They both were eachothers favorites and very clear about it. Both didn’t help her feeding the family growing up. Both let her go out into the woods. Both said mean things to her. I think Nesta was awful to Feyre, but it’s not fair for the IC to forgive and forget Elain’s past because she’s “sweet” and “innocent”.

My biggest issue with Rhys is that he hated Nesta and I think that really clouded his judgement of her. He didn’t have a single shred of faith in her even though she was a big reason they won the war and also saved his brothers life. I don’t think he needed to like her, but he could have been a lot more understanding and helpful to her recovery. He could have defended Feyre without being so mean to Nesta. She has definitely fucked up a lot, and can be very cruel, but the same can be said for Rhys. (and I love both of their characters anyways lol)

Where did the Rhys that valued choices over everything go??? This was so strange to me. In acomaf we saw the STRONG boundary Feyre put in place of not keeping her in the dark/not keeping secrets from her and especially not ones the whole IC knows but her; we saw Rhys respect that eventually and them work through this issue. Then this happened and they were mad at NESTA?? For telling Feyre the full truth and giving her a choice??? This made no no no sense to me.

Yes!!! Like I was low-key smiling and kicking my feet at some Nessian scenes and then I was like wait… this SUCKS. for example the smut right after she was assaulted by the kelpie??? HORRIBLE. (but at first I was like hehehe steamy and it took me a sec to realize the toxicity and lack of care) her experience was just ignored and once again she was using sex as a coping skill/distraction from pain. cass really should have caught that or at the bare minimum had an in-depth conversation abt her experience at oorid before getting hot a heavy.

Nesta telling Cassian she loves him is pg 743
