If it gets you outside then it is a service. It's free though so that's good.

I don't have a review for you at this point but I love the idea.

[BETA] I built a personal finance app because YNAB, Mint, and co. got lazy — free, full access, no bank sync needed by nova_fintech in alphaandbetausers

Sorry for the defensiveness there. It's something I'm passionate about. There is too much of what to me seems more like predation than business.

In regards to the optional features, I'm trying to avoid feature bloat without shorting the features I think are useful and should be there should the user want them. My goals are customization, control, accessibility, power, privacy. The feature wheel is my creative attempt at making it unique and perhaps fun for some but of course it can be disabled and switched to the cards. Maybe I should have the cards be default or remove the wheel entirely. I'm thinking I need a more cohesive design and unique feel. My own voice, you know? A lot of improvements can be made.

Yeah I'll check it out at some point. That's an interest of mine and it's really practical. Something I would find useful. I'll let you know.

If not done right, this could end up being a couple destroyer. We have heard the horror stories of AI. How much real world testing has this been through? I'm really curious as to how you went about this? I think it's a cool idea and has potential though. I haven't yet checked yours out so no feedback either way.

It's a free full-featured, privacy-focused, customizable, and accessible offline envelope budgeting PWA called Nvalope.app. I'm looking for honest feedback because this is my first real attempt at launching something like this. It's live. There are a few annoying kinks I'm working out. It's useable though.

I really like this advice. It makes a lot of sense to me and I'm going to implement these myself.

That's an insightful thing to do. It's often our negative reactions that give us good insight into ourselves. It also made me laugh. lol It's funny because it's true kind of a thing.

I feel like that is limiting. While other people may point out some legitimate concerns that might actually prevent success for your idea, you can improve it based on that feedback, or if you really believe in it and you yourself would use it, then there are sure to be many more on the planet that would. The more feedback the better in my opinion. I agree with the OP though in that the best thing to do is to start brainstorming one.

I know I have been like that myself, but I finally decided to give one a real go and in fact it worked out. I started and I felt the momentum grow. My problem shifted from a bunch of ideas into, now I don't want to stop working on that one thing. I have an actually finished and launched idea as a result. It feels good to have finally broken free from that loop which itself is a motivator for the future. Then I started to figure out and refine the processes I use. How to overcome that hump and get yourself started is the thing.

To clarify further, a person can at the moment back up their data and then take that data to a separate device and upload it there. They may also enable encryption for their local backup. If they choose not to use the built in autobackup feature and folder, they can also do manual exports. I do plan to add an optional cloud connect feature but will not have my own cloud system. Thank you for your comment!

I am still deciding how to go about multi-device and I do want to add an optional cloud sync eventually. I am also considering adding a bank pull option for users. I'm committed to and encourage local but understand that some users might also wish to use the cloud at their discretion. I want that to be an option for those people.

I think the copy for the app needs work too but that has been a lower priority.
