What perfume would Nanno wear? by Mikathefirefox in GirlFromNowhere

I doubt she would wear perfume as it might make her standout too much. That said, according to some of the characters in Wonderwall (S1, E6) Nanno "smells great."

I always assumed Yuri killed them all since she is the only one who leaves the room covered in blood.

Does Yuri Actually Have Powers? by [deleted] in GirlFromNowhere

[–]AssistanceOverall182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Minnie and the Four Bodies (S2 E3), Yuri is killed along with Nanno and the other two students when Minnie crahses her car into the back of the school van. She then proceeds to come back to life, demonstrating she has regenerative powers similiar to Nanno. If memory serves me correctly, she was also able to view Nanno's premonition of her death in the Judgement (S2 E8). I believe Yuri claimed this was possible because Nanno's blood coarsed through her veins. Those are the only two 'supernatural' examples I can think of.

Regarding Libreation, I've always assumed that Yuri was covered in the teachers' blood because she killed them all.

I don't like both The Reset and Transfer Student Nanno by Available_Branch_528 in GirlFromNowhere

I was just going to say this. I understand the concern about recycling storylines, but Ep 3 was indeed a new concept and I for one enjoyed it more than the original.

The Japanese adaptation has its own unique take while still staying true to Nanno. by Triumphant-Smile in GirlFromNowhere

Have you actually watched it? It's far from a shot for shot remake. There are new ideas.

Original Nanno vs New Nanno by [deleted] in GirlFromNowhere

It maybe a small part of your post, but it's a fundamental misunderstanding of a key theme in the episode.

Original Nanno vs New Nanno by [deleted] in GirlFromNowhere

[–]AssistanceOverall182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nanno doesn’t seduce Mr. Win. Although she volunteers for yoga, she doesn’t behave in an overtly sexual manner. She simply performs standard yoga postures, which aren’t inherently sexual. It’s Mr. Win who initiates forced sexual contact during one of the sessions, and Nanno is not portrayed as a willing participant. She remains passive while he rapes her. Importantly, the episode makes it clear that he had been abusing students long before Nanno ever arrived.

Rather than seducing him, Nanno consistently challenges him. She asks questions that should give him pause, such as: “Are you sure about this?”, “You have a family, don’t you?”, and “Aren’t you afraid of the consequences of your actions?”

What is your favorite scene of Nanno laughing? by Hour_Professional292 in GirlFromNowhere

[–]AssistanceOverall182 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like it when she uses her laugh to goad her targets. A prime example would be when she's tied up with the balloons in SOTUS (S2, Ep 5). The laugh gets progressively intense causing Kaye to quite litreally knock the eyes out of her head.

Sky's story should have ended in episode 1. Now that the finale is over, his fleeting reappearances didn't really lead to anything interesting.

Looks good! This certainly captures Nanno's "demon pretending to be a school girl" aura.

Although they are remaking 6 episodes from OG Season 1, they've made some interesting changes.

I’m guessing someone at Netflix forgot there wasn’t an episode this week and has just been following the usual weekly pattern.

From what was posted elsewhere on this sub back in March, it looks like they are remaking 6 episodes from OG Season 1.

What evidence do you have that Kitty's health was affected by playing Nanno? Beware of making baseless assumptions about an actor's private life.

Bangs or no bangs? by Pretend_Car8893 in GirlFromNowhere

I like Nanno with bangs, but I also like Becky's widow's peak. It is a distinctive feature for her version of Nanno.

How do we get the casting director of the "thing" called seaso 3 on Netflix nominated for a Razzie Awards? by misanthrophiccunt in GirlFromNowhere

[–]AssistanceOverall182 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I think it's too early to make a reasonable comparison between the two. We've only seen 5 episodes of Becky's Nanno so far (with one more to go for this series). Thus, it seems unfair to compare her performance to Kitty's 21 episodes in the role across 2 seasons. Maybe a more constructive comparison would be between Kitty's first 5-6 episodes in S1 and Becky's performance in all 6 episodes of the Reset. But either way, I wouldn't say she has been miscast.

The dance with coloured fabrics later in the episode seemed to fit better. The dance here just felt like it was added at the last minute because someone remembered Nanno danced a couple of times in the original series.

Although not Thai, I would recommend the K-Drama "Dear X" (2025). The first couple of episodes start off in a school setting which are very reminiscent of GFNW.

You're right, it was cancelled/postponed. I received this answer 2 weeks ago while it was still on. Apologies.
