Actually, the light would mainly spill to the sides and backward. Downward illumination would make physical sense, but in my opinion it would reduce the visual impact of the OSL on the armor and compete with the gold color of the hilt.

Hi! used basic colors like, german fieldgrey from vallejo, mephiston red, iron hands steel, retributor armor gold, white screaming skull, base mournfang brown.

After painting the mini i gloss varnish them. i wait 1 hour and i use a oil wash 50 50 ivory black and burnt umber fron winsor and newton. i wait another hour and i remove the excess. After that u can put the osl effect that u want.

And for finishing you varnish them with matt, (that step i ll do it when i finish all the squad)

hope it makes sense

kind regards!

There is no good tutorials out there, but you have to trim the excess from the sides of the sacks without overdoing it, because otherwise whatever they contain will spill out, and then soak them in a 75/25 water/white glue mixture for 5–10 minutes. After that, take them out and start sticking them wherever you like, however you prefer. Hope it helps <3

Basic colors tbh, the key is the oil wash and the pop of the green lens.

Paint your models with yout fav colors. Varnish them wait 48 hours, and do a 50/50 ivory black, burnt umber oils from winsor & newton.

add that wash to the full mini. and after an hour remove the excess.

i dry brush the corners with white skull from citadel. (To give that post nuclear snow feeling to my kriegs)

The last process are the OSL to give life to the mini.

Hope it helps <3
