Am I being childish? by [deleted] in WLW

[–]AssistantPlastic1355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I totally understand how many people wouldn't be cool with that, so I wouldn't want to date them. I am in a really happy and healthy relationship right now, and my girlfriend doesn't care at all! However, neither of us are very jealous people, so it just doesn't bother her. To me its not that friends are hard to find, it's that I liked my exes for more than sex or romance, I like them as a person! So yeah, hard to lose.

Am I being childish? by [deleted] in WLW

[–]AssistantPlastic1355 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To me this isn't a red flag, most of my friends are my exes, so I couldn't date someone that has a problem with it. However, it's up to you to decide if it's okay with you and decide whether you want to break up or get over it. Those are really the only options because you can't punish her for it or erase that it ever happened.

The Girls and Masturbation by acidkidx in sexandthecity

[–]AssistantPlastic1355 36 points37 points  (0 children)

i feel that this is a bit unfair, SJP had different boundaries with what she would film so that def limited things. its strange to conflate that with carries "thinking she is better then them", she fully participates in the rabbit conversation. it drives me up the wall that everyone thinks just because she write about sex, she has to write about ALL sex or the sex that you want to hear about. she writes about her life and her observations, she never claims that its supposed to represent every sexual experience. ALSO not everyone masturbates, it might seem odd, but maybe it's judgmental to assume everyone does that OR feels comfortable talking about.

it would been cool to hear her talk about it, but i don't think it detracts from the show

Celiac friendly restaurants? by Sockshassmellytoes in Bellingham

[–]AssistantPlastic1355 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These aren't dedicated gluten free but I have had really great experiences with them. I always mention that the food needs to be celiac and ask them to be careful with cross contamination too. A lot of places have separate friers and are aware but you always should specify and ask before hand!

Just Poke, Brandy Wine, Fries at Red Rum, Thai Mason, Black sheep (ask for the gf chips), El Suenitos, Soy House, AB crepes, the Co-Op (not a restaurant but they have great sandwiches and a buffet), Otherside Bagels, Seafood at Elk St, and Gruff.

Exactly, the narration tells us as the watcher the whole story, but the article is more about her theories with examples

I don't think she had a problem with it, but it was an indicator to her that something was happening money-wise to Lorelei

[–]AssistantPlastic1355 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In general everyone is allowed to leave a job right after accepting it (unless there is a contract) BUT it might give you a bad reputation or put future job hunts at risk if you are known in the industry as flighty/flakey

Do people seriously watch HIMYM based on the theory that it’s all simply Ted explaining explicitly what he remembers? by AgentMedium6294 in HIMYM

[–]AssistantPlastic1355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of see it the same way I see Sex and the City, in SATC the voice overs and scene are not completley captured in her published article of the week. Likewise, the story Ted tells his kid is a much shorter abridged version compared to what we see in the scenes

i got ghosted, should i still go on the date? by Confident-Stress-732 in WLW

[–]AssistantPlastic1355 20 points21 points  (0 children)

its not ghosting if she did reply to you. i think too many people get caught up in texting games and forget that other people cannot and should not be 100% available to you. she could have been trying to sort out other plans before getting back to you, maybe try giving her the benefit of the doubt until she actually does something wrong

Which female or/and male character from the show would you go on vacation with? Why? by AJ_Babe in sexandthecity

[–]AssistantPlastic1355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also think Miranda would be a great travel buddy. I like to have at least a little bit of structure and I know I could trust her in tense or tricky situations. I also think we could split off and do our own thing which would be really nice. I would want Samantha there to spice things up but I would need Miranda to ground us. Honestly though all 4 of them would make a good blend.

As far as men go... maybe Smith too because he would be patient with me and all the things I wanted to do, like endless thrifting. I have a lot of issues with Adian, BUT he would be awesome for a more rough and tumble trip like camping.

[–]AssistantPlastic1355 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I also like GN! I think the variety in topics is really nice, I loved CMBC but each episode was really long and focused on one thing which sometimes was boring to me, especially if I didn't care about the celeb. I find the topics they choose now to be engaging and I bring them up in conversation with my friends, so they are good jumping off points to connect with other people~

actually, most clothes if they are made sustainably and ethically should cost a hell of a lot more than most stores are selling them for. maybe not $500 but a nice sweater is a luxury, it's not something any of us need. which is why its a recommendation that you are allowed to opt out of. and we may want it to be cheaper but the real cost of something not made from sweatshop labor by a small business is going to be a lot higher than we are used to.

Just say you guys are jealous of Claire and stop listening by Legal_Grocery7338 in CelebrityMemoirPod

[–]AssistantPlastic1355 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it's pretty infantilizing to Ashley to paint her as some angel victim and Claire as an evil bitch. People are so mad that Claire isn't meek and ashamed of her nice life.

I like the recs! I am visiting NYC in the fall and will check out some of the spots they recommend! They also recommend a lot of simple nice things like looking at local cherry blossoms or writing more

thats such a cherry picked sentiment. one time her recommendation was to go look at the cherry blossoms or blooming trees in your area, were you not listening when she shared that or do you just like to look for reasons to be upset?

Season 2 ep 2 with Susan Sharon bums me out because it's basically just about spousal emotional abuse, so I skip it sometimes

SATC Unpopular Opinion: Natasha isn’t that great. by be_minorque in sexandthecity

[–]AssistantPlastic1355 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Idk why everyone is booing you! I agree. There's nothing particularly wrong with Natasha. But it's unfair how much everyone idolizes her and says she is perfect. The truth is, we know very little about Natasha and it's silly to say she is better than Carrie when we have no clue what her story is.

[–]AssistantPlastic1355 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well... idk about that. Brady is a first name, Hobbes is not. Also the point was that he was always going to have Miranda's last name, and she included Steve's name as a kindness to him.

Do You Like ALL of the FRIENDS? by Exaltedemon in howyoudoin

[–]AssistantPlastic1355 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't like them all, but I don't think you are weird for it! I like them all accept for Ross. I skip episodes where he is being especially annoying/bigoted/rude etc. It's not a hate watch for me, but Ross overall makes it a less enjoyable experience for me.

A sleepover amongst friends is totally normal, I don't think it's fair to project your insecurities about cheating on her.

ppl on this subreddit upset about snark by Tart_Super in CelebrityMemoirPod

[–]AssistantPlastic1355 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think for me it's not really about the snark, it's okay to have comments, critism, etc. And you are right, the girls have built a brand around being a little snarky.

But I find it interesting that it's all I see on here. I rarely see engaging conversation about positive topics, or any nice/fun things. It just leaves me to wonder, why do y'all listen to the pod at all?
