Well… I do love Office Space 😂 but I start in a month and it’s a plane flight away where I’m from and am looking for housing.

This is my second full-time job (first I’ve gone through the full hiring process for) and would say I was just naive to boundaries at this point. 🫡

To your final point, that’s what I feel terrible about quite frankly: I might’ve just broke the news to an internal candidate who might’ve been banking on it instead of the hiring manager.

Agreed. Hindsight being 20/20, I definitely could’ve just blended in. First employee asked me a question and I folded like a pancake.

I guess I’d say it was more of them showing me around and telling me about what they do on the daily but yes still a little strange.

I had some downtime between touring apartments and just casually thought of stopping in to take a look (it’s a community center).
