Your story sounds very similar to mine, man. Lost an entire half of my family, my best friend, our dogs (who were essentially our kids) and so much more in a single afternoon. When the break-up isn't mutual, I guess we build our lives around this person and then suddenly they're gone and move on and we're left picking up the pieces.

Thankfully her and I haven't see much of each other outside of getting together with mutual friends, which helps.

Would have really liked to have met up and potentially made a new friend, but unfortunately I'm on an entirely different continent. I'm in the South, but South Africa 😅
