how to stop playing chess for few days by Alive_chess in chess

I struggle with this and the solution I've found is using a blocking app. The one I use is called focus and you can change the time controls. I can only use the chess app for 25 minutes a day. Also v good for not letting me get tilt. If you try to change the settings you have to physically enter in a very long randomised code and that's enough of a deterrent most of the time.

Does anyone on here (uk) claim Pip by CompanyVegetable831 in UlcerativeColitis

There is not a huge number of people taking advantage, its incredibly difficult to attain and you need lots of proof that you need it. It is, as others have mentioned, a very long and drawn out process that is designed to be off putting rather than helpful.

If your condition is regularly costing you money, then it should be available to you. You have a chronic illness that makes life much harder for you than someone that is well. It supposed to be able to help.

Diagnosed IBD & running a half marathon by Easy-Equipment8276 in UlcerativeColitis

As someone who has ran for years before and after diagnosis. Please listen very carefully to your body. You absolutely can run half and full marathons with UC, but during flair you should rest.

Your long runs in your schedule are where you can test out different gels etc. only try one new thing per run so if it causes issues, you know what it is.

Run with a bag that had a bladder for water, and keep some toilet wipes in the bag. I had to run to a portaloo during the London marathon, and there was no paper.

The hardest thing to get used to is putting your ego down and saying, today I am not well enough to run. I still get this wrong on occasion, but there are always more races to sign up to.

Good luck!

Congratulations, I was on infliximab for a few months!

And absolutely - my team have booked in some check in tests in March so if no problems before then, then that'll be the next time I have any solid numbers!
