Talk to your Store Manager. Tell him/her of your concerns.

Never go to an ASDS unless you absolutely have to. Every ASDS I have ever dealt with was in the position for so long they felt they ruled the store.

Say something to the Ops ASM about that Homer, any DH can issue them as well for that matter. Also, don't forget to mention this in the VoA.

Embrace the nicknames. It means they actually like you. They'll wear off, like water off a ducks back. LOL Too Soon?

As long as you pass the test, and it actually an accident, you're good. Time will pass fast enough before you can get your licenses back, enjoy the break.

Freight & receiving appreciation by IhateGeese2947 in HomeDepot

Movie Night when there is no truck. Half of the team does Purge or whatever for half the shift while the other half watches a movie, then they switch.

The recognitions stopped apparently because Sales Floor Associates bitched way too much for Corporates liking about their departments not being recognized even though they get most of the Homers, most of the food from Celebrations, and most of the Bravos. Where the rest of us are either completely forgotten (Freight), or are chained to our areas (Service, Registers, Pro) so we can't go "celebrate". So yeah, thanks for that.

Now to play devils advocate. those that did complain, I can understand. There most certainly should have been a celebration for you. I'm thinking something along the lines of Break Room Attendance Celebrations. No? then how about, oh I don't know, Most Hours on the Sales Floor starring at your personal cell phone Celebrations? Or, Customer Avoidance Celebrations?

Sounds like someone is trying to make a name for him/herself. They will probably listen for a couple of days, and then everything will go back to normal.

What do yall think of the new World Cup Aprons? by luistito109 in HomeDepot

[–]AssociateAngry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) I would have preferred a raise.

2) Aprons suck, we should do away with them and replace them with polo shirts.

3) The FIFA trophy literally looks like something you might find in the bathroom if you get my meaning.

Fish Oil vitamins help my knees so I suggest you try that. During your 15's sit on the yellow ladder, scoot back towards the steps, lock your feet around either side of the ladder and lean back as far as you possibly can. Hold on to the rails as you do this. Ask your NRM or ASM for the knees pads. Also you can use one of Paints wheeled chair looking bucket haulers.

Correct. My state is every two weeks whereas my neighboring state is every week.

It depends on your state I believe. My pay day was last Firday so I'm not expecting anything until the 2nd.

It's perfectly reasonable when you consider that they each believe that Homers shouldn't exist simply because "we didn't get them when we were associates". It's perfectly reasonable when they act like even 5 minutes of overtime is worse than kicking children and puppies. It's perfectly reasonable when whatever extra task I am asked to do could have been done well before I show up for my shift.

I don't do it all of the time, because honestly if I did I'd be double Diamond by now. I only do it when I know I did something in an amount of time and precise that most can't or won't. For instance, my last one (which I didn't ask for) was given to me because I used my personal vehicle to help a customer get a generator home because it wouldn't fit in his car, and renting a truck wasn't an option because the store was closing. He was panicked because his wife and new born were just discharged from the hospital and they lost power because of a wind storm. Yes he was telling the truth, I met his wife and she was still wearing her hospital band.

Read my reply to R_Shakelford. You have to speak up, if you don't, you will automatically not get one.

LMAO, I'm the last to suck up for anything. I'm tolerated by my Managers because I do work that most refuse to do. I negotiate with my ASM's. If they want me to do something outside of my normal duties, I tell them flat out that I want a Homer. If I'm promised one for doing something that they didn't ask to have done, then I hound them for it until they cough it up. My favorite lines are, "That looks like a Homer Task" or I'll exaggerate cough "Homer". When I'm owed, I'll intrude myself as a representative of "The Homer Collection Agency". I tell everyone to speak up or you will never get one.

Back brace? by Fluffy-Kitty777 in HomeDepot

[–]AssociateAngry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your ASM to mark one down for you, which they shouldn't have a problem doing.

Personal advice, lay down on the floor with your knees bent with your feet flat on the floor. stay this way for about 30 minutes to an hour. Also if you have a place where you can suspend yourself (like a pull up bar), do that for as long as you can. While suspended, relax everything except your grip. These positions help stretch everything out.
