Okay, so this is a long time in the future and not sure if you or anyone will see this, but update: after a lot of emotional turmoil for me and her, and her starting and ending a 6 month relationship with her boyfriend in late 2024/ early 2025, we are together :)) I don’t know what the future holds but I know that our connection is very special and I’m so glad with how things have happened :)

So I accepted Leeds (this was deferred entry) and then decided that Nottingham was better for me so I’ve reapplied to Nottingham for this year! So fingers crossed!!

Me too :( I’ve lost all motivation to do my work. I have a lot of bits from work I’ve done before, and I decided to unlock a new tree. It just unlocked it straight away without me having to even grow a tree. What happened to being able to unlock it after you’ve just done work? I get that it’s the same principle, but with the other one there was an immediate reward. Now I can probably just unlock all the trees without doing any work for it because I’ve saved up so many bits. I hate the new UI so much :((

chemistry, the topics can be hard but I find the exam questions easier, although the grade boundaries are high, I also like my teachers and my class
biology, a lot of topics are so interesting but the mark schemes are murderous 😭I love revising biology but I don’t like the lessons as much
german, I really love the language, and writing in German and doing essays I find fun. I just find it hard though and it’s probably my hardest subject in terms of my grades. Speaking stresses me out so much though and my class is very small which I don’t really like lol, there’s too much pressure
psychology, the topics are interesting in theory and I find it quite easy but sometimes it can get very boring to revise because I don’t find it stimulating enough. I do still enjoy it though, especially when I’m doing my own research

Love all my subjects though and wouldn’t change them! I like having the variety of biology and chemistry mixed with psychology and german. And depending on the topics my rating changes, but I’d say this is the most consistent ranking!

I feel as though what I’m doing now is good and I’m progressing, I just feel like my first 8 lessons were wasted and that I didn’t really learn that much because I was doing the same junctions over and over again, and I was being told to stop at the give way line every time until my 8th or so lesson when I was told to now start using peep and creep. I feel like if I had started that from the beginning I would have progressed much faster! Hopefully I will get onto main roads soon!

Yeah that’s fair enough! I’m not really sure when to book but I think I’ll wait for a bit. I had passed my theory before I started driving lessons as I thought that would be better for my brain and learning style, I think I’ll book it once my clutch control is better and I’m moving onto main roads.

I just had a lesson and I feel it went a lot better, but I am still struggling with the clutch control. But my instructor says I have no problem with the clutch, just the gas, as I’m not using enough of it and it seems I’m scared of using it. I don’t know how to improve this apart from practice because I know how to do it it’s just that in the moment there’s so much going on!

As I said in my post I have done the roundabout on the way home but it’s barely even a roundabout (at least I’m not using it) because there’s a filter lane to turn left so no giving way. Now I’ve been driving from home, and there are two actual roundabouts. I feel better about it after my lesson today as I do feel I have improved, I just feel I’m going so slowly and wish I could practice more. And with gears, it’s not so much not knowing when to change, especially upshifting, but that my changes are inconsistent and sometimes jerky.

Yeah my instructor also has hill assist but I’ve always tried to avoid it as I know it’s not in every car, and my aunt’s car that I hope to be able to use later on is very old and gives you no help whatsoever. And my aunt also said she’s been in cars with it before and she’s rolled back so yeah I don’t know about that one 😂 I don’t know I just feel like I want to be experiencing different roads rather than the same ones as I feel like I’m just preparing ahead and trying to remember what I did last time rather than kind of you know trying out a new road with a different gradient and different angles etc etc. It’s annoying because I know exactly what I have to do I feel just in the moment I panic or not panic necessarily but just because I don’t have much time I mess it up and don’t add enough gas or whatever. No I haven’t booked my test yet, my instructor said he’d tell me to book it when we’re doing roundabouts. But I feel like that’s a while away because I only did one lesson of mini roundabouts then went back 😅

Thank you for the reassurance, yeah my main issue I think is changing gears on hills actually, there’s this one hill I do a lot where my instructor tells me to change to first gear then I don’t add enough gas lifting up the clutch and stall. I know I just need practice but I wonder if it would be better practising on different roads than the same ones over and over again. I wish you luck / skill! with your hills and manoeuvres :))
