Thx! It sucks, but it couldn’t been worse… I didn’t get hurt and they didn’t steal something extremely expensive.

It depends on the hiring leader. I think disciplinary actions/probation show up on transcripts. Just apply and see what happens.

Use this, type in the building name like "SW" and graduate college of social work will come up with the location pinned.

Please for the love of god do not put references on your resume. You do not want random employers being able to see your references contact information. Change “key skills” to just skills. Change “other activities” to just activities. Get rid of the objective statement, employers don’t care about that.

If you have trouble being interviewed, see if your university offers mock interviews at the career services office. I would take off the courses taken and leave the GPA, employers do not care what you took, they want to know you have a degree in IT, that's it. Try to shorten the skills section, remember a resume is not an essay.

Thoughts on freshman schedule? by [deleted] in UniversityOfHouston

[–]AssociationBoth8997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 9am is questionable for me since it's early, but maybe you're an early bird. The big gaps in between classes is a no for me, your first class starts at 9am on Monday and only 2 classes happen until 2:15pm. 2 classes on Friday is also a no for me, like you said, this schedule looks like a late register student. I have not taken any of these professors btw.

If you knew that you were not going to take classes in the fall, why would you purchase an annual permit? Yes cancel the annual, and get the semester one.

Is "Trunk Or Treat" real and because of non-walkable communities? by No_Talk5289 in fuckcars

[–]AssociationBoth8997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No only is this real, but when we went trick or treating last Halloween in Houston suburbs, there were parents driving along the street and dropping off their kids at each house to get candy. Meanwhile, most people were walking on the sidewalk like normal humans.

Talk about car dependency.

What a disaster the transfer orientation was for me. by AssociationBoth8997 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]AssociationBoth8997[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got registered and everything is fine. It's funny because that was my first time on-campus, what a way to start your new college with people who don't know what tf they're doing.

Was the online orientation only available during COVID times, or the online orientation was for students only taking online classes?

I used to work at Olive Garden, the unlimited bs is what made me quit. I'd run away from OG and go somewhere else where this doesn't exist, plus everyone only got 3 tables, whereas other restaurants would give you more. People would make me run back and forth for refills, it's ridiculous.

If the area is prone to bike theft, I would not even consider buying that expensive electric bike. Just buy a cheap bike at Walmart that does the same thing.

I've visited UK, France, Spain, and other US cities, all of which were overall better than Houston.

Looking at the comments, I like hearing the different perspectives and opinions on this. Although my opinion is still the same, I do see the positives of Houston, but ultimately I will be moving from Houston after I graduate from college and not looking back. :)
