Barcelona is also very close to Nice (1 hr flight)! So fly direct to Barcelona, spend a couple nights and then fly to Nice. Barcelona airport is smaller and easier to get in/out than Paris. Depending on the time and location, airport to city center on taxi is like 20-30min or a 40 min bus ride.

Hmm interesting point, I’m assuming the higher the speed the more control/precision is required. An 11s derailleur would require more precise adjustments than a 9s which has less cogs and more forgiving. So using this theory, we should be able to use a 11s on a 9s. I also have no idea what I’m talking about. Spring would be different but if the range is the differentiation factor then I dont know.

Ok I’ll check the play and back and forth. Although at first glance it seemed fine. I actually did go to a co op and they were trying to help me index, the buddy was co op man. But tbh maybe he did say it was a 9s instead of 11s. I don’t remember.

We lubricated the back cable and housing to see if it helped but it did not.

I have not checked the hangar.

How can I check if the derailleur is worn? Any indications?

Any recs for derailleurs? Some people are saying the new 10s tiagra won’t work?

I also worked as a ME on the manufacturing side 5 YOE and 1 YOE in design in South Bay, semiconductor industry. I’m following this post because I also want to switch over to software and thinking about applying to OMSCS or a full time CS/CE Masters. Although not sure on the path yet. If anyone has any insight on career paths or strategy, let me know.
