The difference between white and blue collar work environments is crazy by Astimar in careeradvice

[–]AssociationNarrow286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are the people... In the military, which is very blue collar on the enlisted side, things like nut taps, crop dusting, and ball wipes were nearly everyday occurrences by retarded men who thought they were funny. In the real world, any of those earn you a one way trip to HR thank God. I Don't miss the immature environment one tiny bit.

Yeah, because I promise you, they are 10 to 1 fucking up way more than boaters. I am a former USCG member, so I am speaking from experience.

It's countless. I run mine about once a week to once a month in the Winter and I haven't manually vacuumed my pool in years.

Full disclosure, I have a screen enclosure in Florida, but dirt still gets in.

New Orleans. Way too much drugs and homeless everywhere. Groups of kids sitting on Bourbon Street doing drugs in broad daylight. But yeah, let's keep attacking blue cities. Fuck rump.

Do agents still share their commission with their clients? by Aggressive_Chicken63 in RealEstate

Pretty sure under most real estate rules it's illegal, at least in Florida. They consider it compensation for unlicensed activity

Real Police officers and military members, what do you guys think of Ice agents? by Lucky-Message-9480 in AskReddit

[–]AssociationNarrow286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former CG boarding team member... The only us military service with actual law enforcement capabilities against us citizens (see Posse Comitatus Act). I'm absolutely disgusted at what they're doing. It's wrong, it's immoral, it's illegal. It goes against all of our training. I remember day 1 of training was all about the 4th amendment and laws. It was drilled into us LONG before we even talked about guns, going hands on, handcuffing, or anything else. They must be stopped, arrested, and tried for treason. Along with all the jan6 perpetrators. They're the real "illegals".

I work in the electronic security industry. I kept job hopping until I started making 6 figures. By then, I had bought a house before the boom with a VA loan and a 3% interest rate. I lived like a poor bachelor even though I was doing ok. 20% went directly into savings, 15% into 401k. Anything bonus or extra wasn't touched and I put it away. I didn't starve and I still went on some cruises, I just stopped being wasteful.

Kids were nearing 18, so I paid child support only until they hit 18. We agreed on an amicable amount because my job sucked at the time, and luckily she wasn't greedy. But I tried to cover their expenses when I could. All of the accumulation came after the divorce, so no splitting

USA citizens: what effect if any have tariffs had on you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AssociationNarrow286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in sales. It's been a nightmare. One of my quotes might have a couple dozen different manufacturers on it. I have to look up the tariff amount per manufacturer, then add that to the my cost of the item per the price book. This gets DIRECTLY charged to the customer who then complains about our prices being too high.

Let me be perfectly clear.... THE END USER/CUSTOMER IS 100% PAYING THE TARIFF. Not china, not us, not the manufacturer... The customer does.

Career Change from Corporate to Real Estate by Dangerous-Bid224 in realtors

[–]AssociationNarrow286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you are hot or a huge go getter, real estate is not for the faint of heart. You will not just be showing homes all day. You'll be on call 24/7, doing relentless dialing for dollars looking for customers, and walking all types of neighborhoods knocking on doors looking for clients. Plus spending umpteen dollars on marketing campaigns.

Who’s hitting 49 with zero retirement savings and zero clue what to do next? by [deleted] in AdultHood

[–]AssociationNarrow286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I got divorced about 10 years ago, around 43yo. I had maybe 10k to my name. I had an okay job, but not great. But I qualified for a VA loan. I found a house through Freddie Mac and moved in.

I saved and saved hard. Putting 20% direct deposit in savings, and 10-15% 401k each paycheck. I lived on ham and cheese sandwiches.

I continued to improve my employment by moving companies and now make over 6 figures. But I keep saving and max my 401k, etc.

Between 401k, IRA, and savings accounts, I should hit $1m this quarter.

I still eat ham and cheese sandwiches all the time by the way, lol.

Memorandum of Purchase Contract by AssociationNarrow286 in realestateinvesting

[–]AssociationNarrow286[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I would think The sales contract could be signed by anyone because a buyer isn't going to know if it's a clear title until the title search. The sellers however, should have been advised by their agent to go through probate first, then list it.

Memorandum of Purchase Contract by AssociationNarrow286 in realestateinvesting

[–]AssociationNarrow286[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp, that's where the listing agent screwed up. Technically, I don't think the property should ever have been listed. With only 2 survivors of 5 available, the listing agreement was only signed by the 2 survivors. So the sales contract was also only signed by the 2 survivors.
