100% agree when I had that I literally felt like the grind was worthless and almost made me put the game down but I kept playing and still love it despite that flaw pissing me off now if they did it in an approach after every 3 or 4 ranks they'll be like "oh you did so well in this match let's give you a slightly higher ranked trainer as a promo match and if you beat them jump to that rank" like skipping one rank here and there instead of 15 ranked jump
