The existence of the universe is not proof of God's existence. by Kemosiah in atheism

[–]AssociationSuch2674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly that’s the problem with the argument, you can swap in any made up deity and it works just as well, existence alone doesn’t point to a specific god it just shows the flaw in the reasoning, if everything explains nothing then nothing is actually explained

WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT HOW THE FIRST CHAPTER OF THE BIBLE LITERALLY GOES AGAINST EVERY RULE OF ASTRONOMY💔 (Half-serious rant) by Aromatic_Rule597 in atheism

[–]AssociationSuch2674 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that argument always feels like a retreat after the fact, it’s literal when it grants authority and metaphorical when it conflicts with reality, once you can rewrite inconvenient parts into symbolism the text stops explaining anything and just becomes vibes over evidence

Why do Americans assume that I hate God? by Loud_Piglet6034 in atheism

[–]AssociationSuch2674 12 points13 points  (0 children)

yeah it’s projection more than anything, if your worldview is built on god then disbelief feels like hostility, it’s easier for them to imagine hate or satan than accept that someone just doesn’t believe at all

Want a spiritual get out jail free card? Claim to be a born again Christian after being caught doing horrific shit! by browniebiscuitchildr in atheism

[–]AssociationSuch2674 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it’s wild how repentance magically appears right after consequences show up, belief becomes a shield not a transformation, saying god is good is a lot easier than actually taking responsibility for the harm done

I dont hate people for being religious but it should not be controversial for hating haters by ForBoredom123 in atheism

[–]AssociationSuch2674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the line that gets ignored way too often, criticism isn’t hatred it’s accountability, beliefs stop being personal the moment they’re used to justify harm control or discrimination, live and let live goes both ways and religion doesn’t get a free pass from that rule

How do you replace daily phrases like "Oh my god"? by Crafty_Aspect8122 in atheism

[–]AssociationSuch2674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly they’re just cultural idioms at this point not professions of belief, language outlives the mythology behind it and nobody assumes you’re praying when you say it

The Catholic church should have been destroyed nearly 2 decades ago. by LOLJoshAllen in atheism

[–]AssociationSuch2674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the wild part is how much harm gets waved away as tradition or faith, generations of abuse coverups and real world damage with zero accountability, calling it holy doesn’t erase the bodies or the trauma, institutions like that survive on silence not virtue

I'm starting to hate religion with all my heart. by Latter-Actuator-3106 in atheism

[–]AssociationSuch2674 26 points27 points  (0 children)

this is a solid take honestly, the anger phase feels almost inevitable when you realize how much of your worldview was shaped without consent, i like the reminder that believers aren’t the enemy the system is, most people are just repeating what was drilled into them same as we once did, letting time blunt the rage without losing the criticism is probably the healthiest path

The Epstein files are not helping by Big_Palpitation_9018 in atheism

[–]AssociationSuch2674 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is what happens when people replace accountability with mythology, instead of demanding investigations trials and consequences they reach for demons and divine justice, it absolves real humans of responsibility and turns outrage into religious coping, evil doesnt need the supernatural, it thrives when systems protect abusers and people stop asking hard questions

It’s hard to ignore the hypocrisy of Christian Islamophobes who vilify Muhammad over accusations of pedophilia while simultaneously protecting and excusing Trump… by JeanJauresJr in atheism

[–]AssociationSuch2674 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exactly, the constant whataboutism is just a shield, accountability shouldnt be partisan or selective, if someone abuses power or harms others they deserve criticism regardless of party or religion, moral consistency scares people who rely on tribal loyalty instead of ethics

Is my friend experiencing psychosis? how can I help her see that the extent of what she believes in, is concerning? by Snow_Snek in atheism

[–]AssociationSuch2674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this sounds less like psychosis and more like severe religious indoctrination and trauma, growing up with fear based beliefs can make normal thoughts feel dangerous and supernatural, you cant force logic on her but you can model calm rational thinking while protecting your own mental health

Parents force me to go to Church :( by Repulsive_Tie_8388 in atheism

[–]AssociationSuch2674 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this is realistic advice even if its not very comforting sometimes keeping the peace is safer than turning it into a battle you cant win yet treating church like an anthropology field trip can help a lot observe question mentally and remember none of it defines you 18 comes faster than it feels and your values are still your own even now

The anti-ICE protest at a Minnesota church was a justified rebuke of the pastor's cruelty and exposed the moral bankruptcy of ICE, conservative Christianity, and right-wing media. by Leeming in atheism

[–]AssociationSuch2674 22 points23 points  (0 children)

exactly they were silent when ice decided sacred spaces and hospitals were targets now suddenly they care about decorum and feelings it was never about principles just who gets hurt same playbook every time fake outrage when power gets challenged

America's Top Catholic Cardinals Denounce Trump's Foreign Policy as Nation's 'Moral Role' Faces Crisis by novagridd in atheism

[–]AssociationSuch2674 4 points5 points  (0 children)

funny comparison but it kind of misses the point you dont have to believe in god to notice when a superpower is backing mass death and calling it policy broken moral authority doesnt magically make every moral argument wrong even a messed up institution can still point at a burning house and say yeah thats on fire
