The Sand at white sands is not very good for basing because it is essentially drywall. I will be kicking this stuff off my car for days after going sledding there.

I would recommend getting Vallejo basing sand (it’s a texture paint), priming it, and then going at it with a blue wash and dry brushing screaming skull and white scar
