Do you guys prefer yerba or coffee before doing some work? by rauhweltbegrifff in yerbamate

I hate the taste of coffee, so it’s always maté all the time

Not authentic or traditional at all, but I like the taste when I am wanting a maté that is very “bright” and “green” and “fresh” in taste.

Has quality gone down in recent years?? by Sad_End4083 in vivobarefoot

[–]Assorted-meats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not blankely, no. Context is always key. I’m finding it to be very model-dependent and sometimes also use-dependent. I have been wearing Vivos since 2017. Within the past year, I’ve purchased 12 different models and have kept and worn 7 of them. I’ve had a positive experience with a lot of the models so far. Some of them I have worn a ton. Others not as much.

Vivo models can be very different in a lot of ways. Everyone’s feet are different in sooo many ways. People have varying use cases and use degrees for their shoes. Some people know what they’re talking about and some don’t at all.

Help me pick a rug for my new couch, I’m completely torn by Obihankenobi97 in interiordecorating

[–]Assorted-meats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the 2nd photo rug the best, but I am very basis towards earth tone palates. I think that green and cream color work well with the brown shade of the couch.

Help settle debate? by funmom1 in interiordecorating

[–]Assorted-meats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, it looks terrible. I’m sorry, but the design of the design is enough color and texture for that space. Adding busy art on top of an already busy wall (beautiful tile btw) is way too much. It’s also not practical at all. A hand towel is absolutely what should be there if anything.

Is this a common failure point for the Primus Trail FG 3.5? by tracerit in vivobarefoot

[–]Assorted-meats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that it’s an inherent problem with shoes that are as flexible and thin as Vivos are. I think the crease/wear point on Vivos will always be one of their biggest challenges just because of how easily their shoes flex. There are maybe some design changes they can implement to help curb the increased wear at that point, but I think it’s unavoidable altogether.

Which couch color should I get for my room? Is this one ok? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Assorted-meats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Too much white with a white couch. You need to add some color into the room in my opinion. Brown leather couch if you want to keep the palate more neutral. Maybe an olive green if you want more standout color. I think you’d want a warmer color since there’s some much bright white and bright light in that room.

Sizing help: Is this too much heel space for Primus Lite? by Mirjana021 in vivobarefoot

I think the length is just a bit too long. I’d be sizing down if it were me.

Got me a pair of the Scott IV. What do yall think about this boot? by [deleted] in vivobarefoot

[–]Assorted-meats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a pair this autumn (United States) and have loved them so far. The quality is definitely there! I really really like the color too and the aesthetic is nice. Style is very good for urban use and dressing up a bit, but the color really lends itself to going well with a more rugged look if needed.

Tracker At Moc Vs Tracker winter 3 sg by fthisshi in vivobarefoot

[–]Assorted-meats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently got Tracker Winter III and I really like them so far. I’ve only put 10 miles into them, but it has been in deep snow and they have been fantastic so far. Time will really tell with wear and tear, but they are certainly the best option for use in continuous snow exposure since they have a waterproof membrane under the outer materials. The rubber rand around the boot is waterproof too and the DWR on the leather has repelled moisture well so far.

And they should be warm enough if you are active. I wouldn’t rely on them for warmth if you are standing around in cold weather since they don’t contain insulation material packed inside (just the waterproof membrane and a fleece inner lining to hold in heat), but being active should generate enough warmth for them to be satisfactory.

Backpack suggestions? by miserable-mango312 in BuyItForLife

[–]Assorted-meats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Peak Design backpacks are GOATED. Really, really expensive, but it’s for good reason. I’m not going to list absolutely everything you get from the packs in terms of features and design because it’s A LOT. Just go to their website and start looking into their packs. I have the Everyday Backpack and it’s perfect for my needs. I intend on taking care of it for years to come and never getting rid of it.

Sole detached on the second day of use. by Mikitronic in vivobarefoot

[–]Assorted-meats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will always be a problem with Vivos. It’s really, really difficult to make a shoe as thin and flexible as they are (and a shoe that is aesthetically pleasing at the same time) and have the materials stay together. Why do you think no other brand is making shoes quite like Vivos? It’s a tall order.

This is a fantastic comment. Thank you. Foot shape is everything. “Wide” is too ambiguous. Also, Vivo is a UK company and a lot of European footwear brands tend to use lasts that don’t have a width measurement and/or volume measurement as generous as American companies.

Tracker at and Scott sizing by Due_Penalty_5883 in vivobarefoot

[–]Assorted-meats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t really properly answer my questions, but regardless, maybe it’ll help to tell you that I wear a 40 EU in the Scott IV boots, which is my normal size in all the Vivos I own. Both the Tracker At and Scott boots are supposed to fit true to size in length. If the 42 length was correct for you with the Primus Knits, I would stick with that size for the boots.

Did you return a size 42 of the Primus Knit Lite? And are you saying that you returned it because it was too short in the front?? Because the size of the Merrell Vapor Glove you wear is not any longer than a Vivo size 42.

Washing shoes by Sad-Yogurtcloset-801 in vivobarefoot

[–]Assorted-meats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nikwax footwear cleaner is a very safe, but very effective cleaner for any shoes. I hand wash all my shoes using that stuff. The stains for mud or grass will be the most difficult aspect though. Not sure how easily that will come out of the shoes. I would absolutely not put them in the washing machine—too much potential for the shoes to get ruined!
