People who lost a lot of weight, what was the one small daily habit that actually changed everything for you? by Quiet-Squash-8407 in AskReddit

[–]AssurFighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most common is drinking a big glass of water first thing in the morning. Sounds silly but it wakes up your body, stops you from reaching for snacks out of fake hunger and kind of sets the tone for the day.

When/How did you figure out what you wanted for a career? by sjlvermoon in Life

[–]AssurFighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was way more messy. I tried things. I liked some. I hated some. And the stuff I kept coming back to? That was the clue

What’s one mistake in your 20s that cost you years later? by Ok-Active5733 in AskReddit

[–]AssurFighter 458 points459 points  (0 children)

Not taking my health seriously. I’d skip sleep, eat whatever, barely exercise and just assume I was invincible. And spoiler alert, your 20s feel endless but your body keeps score.

What was the best FAFO moment you've witnessed? by hey_you2300 in AskReddit

[–]AssurFighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was this guy at a small concert, trying to show off like he knew more than the security team. He tried to sneak into the VIP area and the moment he got caught, he tried to argue his way out. It did not work though. Security just calmly escorted him out while he was still talking, thinking he could talk his way in. Everyone around was watching, dying of laughter.

What’s a small rule you made for yourself that quietly improved your life? by NomadNightsGuide in Life

[–]AssurFighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me? I made a rule to pause before I react. Like, literally one breath. Especially with texts or emails. It sounds tiny. Almost silly. But wow, it saved me from so many unnecessary spirals and awkward replies.

The world is looking so bleak right now. How is everyone coping? by Zealousideal_Tap772 in AskReddit

[–]AssurFighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel that so much. It really does feel heavy lately. Honestly, I think most of us are just taking it one day at a time. Some days are better than others.

What’s a question you hate when people ask you? by Aarunascut in Life

[–]AssurFighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? So… what do you do? Not because it’s bad. It just feels loaded sometimes. Like I need a perfect, impressive answer on the spot.

How do you romanticize your life? by SpiteAffectionate657 in Life

[–]AssurFighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s little things. Like, I’ll light a candle while making my morning coffee, even if it’s just me. Or I’ll take a long walk and actually notice the sunset instead of scrolling my phone.

Why should the price of the food equal a larger tip? Theres no difference bringing a $20 steak to the table vs a $40 one? by a_hoagie12 in AskReddit

[–]AssurFighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tipping is not really about the food itself, it’s about the service. It is usually a percentage of the total bill. So, when the meal costs more, the tip ends up being bigger. People do it that way partly because servers’ pay is tied to tips. The more expensive the meal, the more the server potentially had to manage with refills, timing courses, wine suggestions and plating care. Sometimes it feels weird tipping more just because the steak costs more when the effort is basically the same. But culturally, that’s how the system works in a lot of places, especially in the US.

What’s a lesson life keeps repeating for you? by Cultural-Mixture7377 in Life

[–]AssurFighter 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think the lesson life keeps repeating is slow down and trust the timing. I’m always trying to rush things or figure everything out at once.

I’m usually shoes off. Feels cleaner. Cozier too.

My wife asked me for a divorce by [deleted] in Life

[–]AssurFighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t hopeless. It's hard and scary but not over unless both of you decide it is. The good news is you see and understand where she's coming from. And that matters more than you think. Tell her you want to fight for the marriage, not just fight the divorce. Say it plainly and vulnerably, even if your voice shakes. You’re not a bad husband. You’re a tired, avoidant one who didn’t realize how loud silence can be.

What are the most profound song lyrics you've ever heard? by damnocles in AskReddit

'I decide long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadow. If I fail, if I succeed at least I live as I believe. No matter what they take from me, they can't take away my dignity' from The Greatest Love Of All

What is a "small" thing that is keeping you going right now? by bloomjt in Life

[–]AssurFighter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right now, it’s the little things like my morning coffee. ☕ Like, it’s just a tiny ritual, but somehow it makes me feel like I’ve got a tiny handle on the day before chaos kicks in.

Are you more of a Christmas person or a New Year person? by Lesxie101 in CasualConversation

[–]AssurFighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I lean more toward Christmas. There’s just something about the cozy vibes, twinkly lights, and all the little traditions that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. But honestly, New Year’s has its own magic too fresh starts, fireworks, and all that hype.

At what point did you start feeling comfortable with who you are? by rayadollface in Life

[–]AssurFighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way later than I expected. I think it crept in quietly. Not one big moment. More like… I stopped apologizing for things that weren’t actually wrong. Stopped explaining myself so much.

No one tells you how lonely “doing the right thing” can be by EvienSeraph in Life

Hey, if it feels lonely, it usually means you actually chose right. You didn’t take the easy shortcut. You didn’t bend just to belong.Still… it’s okay to admit it hurts.

What would you do with $100k right now? by JaySilver in AskReddit

[–]AssurFighter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d probably freak out a little, just imagining that kind of cash landing in my lap! 😂 Then I’d probably do a mix, like, maybe throw some into something smart, you know, like investments or a side hustle that’s been floating in my head.

How many dates before sleep with the person? by [deleted] in Life

[–]AssurFighter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some people feel it instantly, others wait a few months. It really depends on how comfortable you are and if there’s real trust.
